About this image
All forests in Realms of Asuron are now subject to a more efficient development technique.
By spawning less trees, using larger tree models and decreasing grass density, the forests of Asuron have received a massive performance boost.
This is a view of the southern Avalonian Forest (The Bright Wood/Brightwood) under these conditions. Note that unique lighting and weather for this zone is still in development.
For the dominant tree in this zone, I have chosen the Unique English Oak tree model (the 'Great Oak' in Chorrol). This particular tree model is the largest in the vanilla game. Its wide canopy makes it the ideal choice for this new design.

It makes the forest look old and venerable. (is it the right word? )
I love the idea of using wide tree canopies as a part of RoA's art style, but, that said, if you're the type of player that likes playing in third-person perspective, there may be times at which the camera is swallowed by leaves and you can't see your character for a brief moment. Three solutions to this problem:
1. Getting an artist to develop a taller version of this tree model
2. Including an over-the-shoulder camera mod
3. Manually scaling each individual tree up to a 'safer' height
For now, it's not a game-breaking issue, so I won't bother with it immediately, but if testers/players think it's a significant hindrance to their gameplay experience, then I will set it as a higher priority.
I agree with you though -- It definitely ages the landscape. Also, it really helps improve the mod's sense of identity, as nothing like this exists in Oblivion.
