Open it in Blender, for each it's parts do CTRL + A -> "Scale and Rotation to Obdata".

Le edit: Also check if there are "_hl" textures, for example if there is a "wignametexture_hl.dds" delete it, the "_hh.dds" too if it exists.

Le another edit: Check if the wig is using the helmet slot, a good idea is to merge the wig and ears(if rigged, example: ears from chakaru's\apachii's wig mods) into the same nif.

Le yet another edit: This is only covering the strange wig position, the missing mesh must've been a mistake in the Construction set.

Alternatively you can PM one of the "wig masters" around here for help...*hints to chakaru and Lucha* xD

Thanks once again D17. There are only normal maps. Great fear and trembling results from your suggestion of opening the hair in blender, but I'll try to get the nerve up to do that. With other wigs what I have done is just started over, and sometimes it "takes." But the translation to Obdata makes a lot of sense.

Almost forgot some meshes don't like the "Apply" button in Nifskope after moving/scaling them, try to move\scale it (all over again from the beginning) and then do not click the "apply" button.

      And again thanks!
Yes, I have one wig (a private share--Finn is wearing it) that has an egm as well as ears. I only noticed after your post that it doesn't have an _n map, but it does have an _hl, which doesn't really make sense since these are for hair shaders. At least, as far as I know; see growlf and throttlekitty at http://niftools.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1552. I've never noticed anything about that wig (excepting the UV mapping, which I re-did). I'll try generating a normal map for it and test it to see if I notice anything.

Most wigs are set to equip like the vanilla hoods and open helmet. This is why ears tend to disappear when you equip a wig. Ears tend to be in the tail slot or Amulet.
The lack of a mesh path showing some times on an armor means that some one forgot to path it to there or they didn't make a version for that gender.

Yup. Which is why Sephira in most of the shots wears Apachii ears. Apachii also has wonderful "hair for hoods" that I use: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/images/145784. Some hat mods have hair built in, so you don't look bald wearing them (Apachii hoods is an example). Other hats, like Bellenia's feathered cap, take up an amulet slot so that they rest on the head.

Oh what a fantastic idea. (Actually, I did this in FONV for an alien. Wasn't bald, though. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.)
