About this image
It is sometimes easy to admire the works of past empires; and this admiration might trigger a longing for a return of the old times, and a forgetting that this beauty was built on the backs of slaves. Some High Elves feel that the occupation of Cyrodill by the Imperials is an affront to the supremacy of Mer, and that they are unfit to call these marvelous works their own. But if it was the slaves that in fact built these monuments, then who truly are more justly deserving of these works than the descendants of Alessia and her followers?
