Zella, "Look, Mau is twitching in her sleep."
Yojimbo, "She is probably dreaming."
Zella, "I wonder what she dreams about."
Yojimbo, "Probably about hunting mudcrabs for a good supper."
Zella, "I suppose so."

I thing they are doing studies with rats & can pretty well prove that they dream of things that happened the day before. The way the brain is activated is identical to the way it is when they are doing a particular maze & it changes with the activity to be the same as what they had in the activity the day before the dream.
Cats may be more creative with what they see or interpret it inaccurately. This is not what Mau actually saw them doing.
