About this image

Just released the second alpha build!
Areth Mod Page

And yes, I'm celebrating! It's been almost three years since I first slapped this crazy project up on the Nexus.. What a journey! I quite literally spent two years studying/experimenting with all sorts of city and landscape designs while I modded on the fly. Then I spent the third year revising/expanding the lore and polishing the world design.Through trial and error, my experience with Areth has taught me a lot, and I went through four prototypes before I found a style of development I liked. Now, the exterior world is finished at last.

This latest release has been three months in the making. Two major cities (Valorwind and Tyrendar) were added. No small task!! The map was greatly expanded and the settlements of Dawnshire and Darklight were relocated to more appropriate areas, each given their own biome, just like Valorwind and Tyrendar: Dawnshire gets a bright, golden forest all to itself, while Darklight sits buried in the shores of a lush wetland. Tyrendar watches over the warm and vibrant fields of Hyperia while Valorwind sits in the cool shade of the Valor Peaks. The whole world just has a nice "networked" feel to it now.

Yet I'm withholding any more of my own screenshots for this one because so much work into building these new areas and I don't want to spoil the surprise ;)

Hope to see you in Areth soon!

Far from finished! Now that the land is complete and the cities are in, my work is just beginning But yes, it seems like yesterday it was just a cloned Great Forest with a chapel and a few houses, haha. Thanks for the congratulations, jobra
