About this image

Curses and a pox upon your house Mercutio.
Corpse along the road like this are dded by W.A.C. I think. They make the game a little more interesting.

In a related story I find myself wondering why I haven't got to the trouble of modifying my own BSA's. Now hear me out, Every one has their own build for Oblivion. They like this grass file, or that texture of thatch for a roof. But save for one texture file that is no longer around you don't see all that many BSA's for the default game. And every time I do a reinstall I find myself wondering why I spend half a day modding the game when I could cut that by saving just the Mesh, Sound and Texture files that I'll swap in for the games default' files.
Now don't get any idea's about me uploading these for some one else to down load. I just got to wondering Why hasn't some one done this all ready. More so when I look at the W.A.C. file and wonder why no one's loaded a re-placer BSA for the HGEC version.

If this isn't an actor but a static model, then the face texture is hardcoded to the regular headhuman.dds, which is the file Blockhead replaced with its warning sign.

Of course Blockhead will never be able to "control" the textures on static non-actors as well to fix this now. One has to specifically patch the NIF file of this model in order to make it point to the correct blockhead-ized headhuman_f.dds now.

A minuscule oversight with a huge effect.

Admitting I first thought that some one had scrubbed this person crimes on their face. Wasn't till I was converting the file from BMP to JPG that I noticed the "INSTALL BLOCKHEAD' message.

One cause might be that in Oblivion there is no load order or other priority definition for resources inside BSA files. Using the game's own BSAs and then adding some replacement files into a BSA you will never really know which one of the two the game will randomly decide to use next time you start the game.

"Replacements" just don't work inside BSAs. Other than that independent "new" resources I've very well seen packed into BSAs before already quite some times.

Well the idea of replacing the default BSA's with my own resulted in the game not loading any of the textures. I opted to test it by replacing just the in game building and landscape textures. The effect was they all came out missing.

Rather odd since the reason I had opted to do this experiment was because the game started not reading the default Mesh folder. Nothing says fun like Missing mesh icons every where for items you didn't use a re-placer on.

In game she is rather close to the Inn of Ill Omen. Not sure if there is a connection to her death or what.
