About this image

I've been hard at work getting the Settlements of Cyrodiil Resource Pack upgraded to the next level. Along with many improvements to the existing meshes and textures, I've been playing with architecture mock-ups for future settlement ideas. This example is a Cheydinhal style home with a Bravilian texture palette.

The bottom stone is vanilla Bravil texture. Door step is tweaked Cheydinhal door stone. The upper stone is also vanilla Bravil with only the mortar lines tweaked to match the lower stone. Roof Shingles are a tweaked Leyawiin texture. Wood Post and window arches are custom. The door texture is a heavily modified Cheydinhal texture. Plaster is tweaked farmhouse plaster texture.

Please leave some honest , constructive feedback so I know if I'm on the right path here. It looks ok to me...but hey I may be somewhat biased.

It looks better than the vanilla Cheydinahl buildings to be sure. That weird purple color that they have always put me off. : P

Haha, you're right - I would be happy to use it as a replacer (weren't I working on my own retex/texture enhancement of all buildings...)

Can't wait to see what you come up with mac. Once I get the resource pack all finished and uploaded you're welcome to use whatever, I'm going to open it up as a modder resource since I have pretty much everything done now to fulfill my goals.

It looks nice, but I think making the shingles and the stonework coordinate a little better would help. Right now they're kinda close to the same color, but different enough to look.. off. If they were closer, or completely different, it might look better.

Yeah I wasn't sure about the shingle color either. Should it match...should it contrast..fortunately I made three other shades to choose from. I think the only real option is matching the stone so the shingles still contrast with the wood frame. Thanks for pointing it out.
