About this image
So tonight I gave some love to those upper doors in Bruma. They've got very nice carvings which are sadly very worn-out, usually almost invisible (either in vanilla or in any given retex).
I drew these patterns from scratch and will give them new wood texture, too. Obviously normal maps will be brand new, too.
What you see here is only a prototype with normal maps just for the pattern. In the final version the carvings will be slightly less prominent. I'll also try to make them look more hand-carved instead of lathe-processed. Wood texture will definitely be different, as well as normal maps for wood will be added. I nailed a small Akatosh brass plaque on upper class doors, which reminds dwellers that Bruma is an important part of the Empire.
It's only a tiny glimpse of my leisurely pet project It's Fun to Get Plastered (in Bruma) - a series of paint, wood, stone and plaster jobs for buildings in various towns. Its aim is to stay as faithful to vanilla (in patterns, colours etc.), but also to find a good compromise between performance and aesthetics we are used to these days.
