About this image
For Realms of Asuron, these past four months have been riddled with setbacks, but they've also been filled with plenty of eureka moments, not to mention the satisfaction of finally seeing parts of my imagination realized, all of which, in the end, make the whole endeavor worth it. After each prototype, I went forward having learned something new, whether it be a new feature of the CS or a new design/technique added to my already extensive repertoire of modding abilities. And now, it all comes to this.
Hyperia was the first realm to appear in the RoA universe, created in 2005, then known as 'New Marcius' (although I recently unearthed an even older, undated map in which it was named 'Gondaria', which made for a very special and nostalgic find). This means I have A LOT of material on hand to work with. I've also found some very nice tropical resources on the Nexus which allow me to more closely realize some of the regions in Hyperia. I was totally satisfied with the vanilla assets, and would have been more than able to complete the project with them -- Hyperia is basically Cyrodiil in terms of climate (which is why I decided to develop this realm instead of Nordania, after running into the scarce assets issue). But now I can take the immersion factor up even further.. Now I can build the realm as it would be, even more appropriately to its latitude. To top it all off, earlier this week, I learned an even faster technique for procedurally generating regions. In today alone, I managed to generate flora and terrain for THREE zones. And now I'm working on the fourth. Now that's progress.
I can't tell/show you everything I've been up to, as that would spoil the surprise, but here's a teaser screenshot of one of the in-game zones.. I am using all that I have learned this year in prototyping to really bring to life the most detailed and realistic world I have ever created.
Quality takes time. And this next iteration of the mod is going to be well worth the wait, I assure you.

It's pretty obvious that you still have all hands full with this project - and as it seems you're still motivated to expand/improve this world!
...and it's nice to read that you have fun to learn new things/techniques to make your work easier and faster, and whereby you get even more fun and motivation!
Keep up the good work!
When a task is once begun, never leave it 'til it's done
-- And, finally, you will present some piece to the applauding public . You'll easily spot me, then, I'll be the one in the first row, clapping hardest .
-- I love how you put Brittainy's foliage to good use here. Judging by her postings during the time of development, it caused her much pain to get it right.
-- Oh, and in the screenie, I like said foliage's silhouette against the sky.
Yes, this entire project has been a very intimate experience. Like evenings in a workshop, as you put it, there have been good moments and bad moments, but no matter how many cuts and splinters I receive, it's that degree of closeness to the work that makes it so worth it to continue sculpting. Lately, this project truly has become more than just a mod, and more like an extended part of me. I could not have said it better myself
