About this image

I decided to scrap the Greek influence on the name and just go with "Silver Lake". "Lake Argyros" means exactly that, but I felt like it was really weird that there would be a styled name so far north. That's a Hyperian thing, not a Nordanian thing (with the possible exception of Zephyros, but at least there is actually a dense pocket of Hyperian civilisation residing there).

This time around, I tried to make the geography of the Lake live up to its name and take on more silvery tones. I found the perfect grass (seen here) and the perfect trees (also seen here), both of which are significantly lighter than the dark teals and purples of Darkwood. As far as lighting and weather goes, it's exactly the same as Darkwood. The Lake is located on the forest's edge so I think retaining that connection in aesthetics is okay (and is probably a plus for immersion).

I love all of the new landscapes thus far. Revisiting the artistic direction of Asuron was a good choice. Next on my list are the Khitan Highlands, which I think will remain the same. I thought Khitan was absolutely perfect the way I built it in Prototype B, so it shouldn't take long to transpose all of the procedural gen data. After that, I'll be on to building settlements, camps and dungeon entrances (exteriors), marking the first true step into Alpha.
