Dammit! textures are my doom =( It's only a preview so it will not be ready until I have proper textures for it... But I feel another release coming soon... this^ and another one are the closest to finish
*Fan girl squeal* Anything Luis Royo is awesome, and the fact that you are able to recreate it in Oblivion is amazing. Sign me up for this beauty when it comes!
If you need texture help DDo is free now - All you need is a diffuse and tangent normal map (although a bump map makes things better), and then presto, a lot of work involving detail and edging and ambient baking is solved though that little Photoshop-based app.
*sigh* I don't think I'm to that level yet, besides I need a normal and I don't have any for it. Plan was to make texture, then normal. Truth is I really suck at textures, I know next to nothing and I always tweak existing ones (at least with decent results) or make them from pieces.
This time, the challenge is to make a brand new texture from nothing... I was making it from pieces of something, and it was... decent (not the one on pants in the pic, that's only for color), but it's too tiresome and there's got to be a better way
Still downloaded the program, gonna see if I can handle it...
Sites like http://www.cgtextures.com/ can be big helps with texture packs. I'm using some of them myself. I want to fiddle around with the textures of some of Nailflan's existing meshs and see what can be done with those.
OMG! I'm still trying to find to learn the right way to create them myself, but in the meantime, and in any case, what an awesome link for this! thank you
cgtextures is awesome indeed. Myself I often use deviantart, too - although it's a lot of digging through. It's fascinating to see such an advanced blender job. I wish one day I'll be able to do something like this as well...
