Fortunately, Mifune-san's injury is not life threatening and he is able to use his healing spell to completely recover. The Battle Cats were bred, over centuries,to have some magical abilities to protect themselves. All will be well, but a return to training is needed for all.

    even the battle cats need some spells

      Animal companions actually need them more, because they are forced to follow you down stairs & steep hills, & then the game gives them huge injuries (worse than almost all battle injuries!). yyy721 made them able to cast spells & now they can follow you & you don't need to heal them every few yards. It is also good for battle injuries.

      I did have a version where you had the spell but it was so unpopular (It was taking a lot of time to heal them between dungeon rooms) that I removed it to conserve Nexus space.
