I can totally understand that you were angry because of this. I felt reminded of the time when I had a nasty weather-bug in my savegame files. The only solution was to load an old clean ( "uninfected" ) savegame.
This way I lost approximately 120 hours of gameplay... (from almost 700 hours down to 550). In this regard I have to mention that we (Alba and I) are probably the slowest adventurers in the world!
The only "good" thing was that we had lost nothing of our progress in the main quest...
...but still, losing a savegame is always a big loss, regarding the skills, explored dungeons, quests, finds, rewards, and businesses that had been made...
