   ...but on the other hand:
   Why not at the bar!? "Count" sounds like a man of high reputation AND untold wealth! Darling could let him spend some money for (f.e.) roses, a good wine and (of course) a nice dinner.
   This way he could prove if he's also a man of character and taste.
