The Egyptian plover is one of several plovers doubtfully associated with the "trochilus" bird mentioned in a supposed cleaning symbiosis with the Nile crocodile (Wikipedia).

Whether the story is true, I keep making connections to this tale whenever I'm
near my freighter. The size difference, the strange relationship the
Vy'Keen captain and I seem to have (because I bought a war-wrought
freighter), perhaps both explain the feeling.
