Introduction
==========================================

This mod is simple in both theory as well as execution. Which is to take the vanilla grass atlas and use AI upscaling to double the resolution. It has also been fine-tuned and edited by hand to minimise artifacting and distortion. No plugins or meshes. As great as Vurt's mods are, they can come up a steep performance cost. This should provide a decent upgrade over the vanilla grass and can run on most machines.

Requirements and Installation
==========================================

A legal copy of Fallout: New Vegas or Fallout 3 with or without the downloadable content. This mod also works well with Tale of Two Wastelands. Simply Install the mod using a mod manager such as Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex.

Recommendations
==========================================

You do not need any INI edits or any other texture mods to make this work. In fact, I recommend the default grass settings. With that being said, if you disable transparency multisampling and you are finding the grass looks odd, it's most likely the culprit.

While I recommend the default settings for most users, there are a few INI settings related to grass you should be aware of.

[Grass]
b30GrassVS = 0
fGrassStartFadeDistance = 7000.0000
iMinGrassSize = 80

b30GrassVS

When this is set to 1 (it will be 0 by default), it enables the grass to by drawn using 3.0 vertex shaders. In summary, this means you can have more grass on the screen with better performance. When it is set to 0, it will use the 2.0 vertex shader model.

fGrassStartFadeDistance

This determines the distance grass is drawn. The default value is 7000. The maximum amount is 11200. Using the vanilla textures, you can easily maintain a distance of 11200 on any modern computer. However, with my mod I recommend keeping it at 7000. You are free to experiment.

iMinGrassSize

This controls the grass density. Its default value is 80. Lowering this will make grass more dense. At higher values, it will be less dense. Do not set this too low. I do not recommend going below 40. A value of 60 is the best balance in my opinion. Grass will be a little more dense and fields will look more full, but it won't destroy your performance. If you set the Fade Distance too high, and your Grass Size too low it will tank your performance with my mod.
