UPDATE 29-12-2016 [dd-mm-yy]:
added optional file 'Weathered 10mm Pistol Replacer'
Requirements are basically the same for the Main File, with one small exception, it DOES require a DLC: The ClassicPack[.esm];
without it, your game will crash!

UPDATE 30-12-2016
Optional File V1.0 was a dud; I re-made the plugin from scratch -so there won't be any redundant references- and uploaded the V1.1 of the Optional file; I tested this one ingame and it performed as it is supposed to. If you installed the 1.0 version of the Optional file, please download the 1.1 version and overwrite the file in your Data folder -sorry, my bad!

01. What and Why?

Mod Author Toasty Fresh created -from scratch- the Colt N99; a weapon featured in Fallout 4. [http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59835/?].
This weapon replaces the vanilla 10mm pistol in F:NV -as well as Veronica's side-arm. It is fully moddable.

So why this mod? It adds a Colt N99 to the gameworld and does not replace the vanilla 10mm gun. I made it for my own personal use and thought I'd share.
The weapon has the same stats as the Weathered 10mm Pistol from the Courier's Stash DLC -this DLC is not required.

The bottomline?
If you want the vanilla 10mm pistol to remain unchanged (or you already have another replacer installed), and you would like a Colt N99 all the same, than this could be your lucky day.

IF YOU DO NOT MIND THAT THE VANILLA 10mm PISTOL IS REPLACED BY THE COLT N99, YOU DO NOT NEED THIS MOD AT ALL !!!!
(SIMPLY DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59835/?)

This mod only contains a Plugin file (ESP file); SEE Requirements for what else you need.

02. Requirements

- Fallout: New Vegas, latest official patch, NO DLC!
- an archive extraction tool; such as WinRar, WinZip, or 7-zip; 7-zip is an open source utility, just google it.
- some form of ArchiveInvalidation; I suggest using the Nexus Mod Manager [NMM]
- And, most importantly, it requires: Colt N99 10mm Pistol (replacer) by Toasty Fresh; http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59835/?

Without the original mod by Toasty Fresh, this non-replacer will not, I repeat, will not function at all !!!

03. Installation

- If you haven't already, download and install http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59835/?
- Assuming you do not wish to replace the vanilla 10mm pistol do not activate the ESP file that comes with that mod.
- Download the archive of the non-replacer
- Extract the archive using the utility of your choice (WinRar, WinZip, 7-zip, etc.)
- Copy the ESP file to your Data directory, which might look like this: X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data
[Personally I have Steam itself installed on my C: drive, but my Steam games on my D: drive]
- I use NMM [the Nexus Mod Manager] to activate the ESP file -and move it up or down my load order should I wish to do so.
- I also use NMM to toggle ArchiveInvalidation off -and back on again.
- Start up your game and have a blast.

- - - - -

04. Deinstallation

- Start up your game and drop the Colt N99 from your inventory.
- Save your Game in a new slot, then exit to desktop
- Use NMM or the FNV Game launcher to uncheck the [Colt N99 Non-Replacer.esp]
- Bob's your uncle

- - - - -

05. Inccompatibilities, Bugs, Glitches and other undesirable side-effects

- Mods that makes changes to Doc Mitchell's house might cause some interference; i.e. the gun might not show up.
I believe the trick to negate such effects is to put the mod at the bottom of your load order; use NMM or whatever you are comfortable is.
- Mods that make changes to the gun modding of FNV might conflict; adding weapon mods to the N99 may fail to display the proper gun models and revert to showing the vanilla models instead.
- if you come across other oddities that might be related to this mod feel free to leave a Comment.
