Hello everybody! This is a tiny mod that adds some timed effects to bubblegum, for maximum immersion value.

The mod requires no DLC and has been cleaned with FNVEDIT, so it should be safe for everybody to use. Still, you should always make a backup save before installing ANY mod, in case something goes wrong.



>WHAT
Were you ever told when you were young that you shouldn't eat gum, as it would make you sick or stick to your bowels forever? Well, you shouldn't be doing it in NV either! So, bubblegum's effects upon being devoured by a hungry courier have been changed, depending on whether hardcore mode is enabled or not. All rads free!

- If not, bubblegum will simply restore 5 health points. Nothing more. Because I don't care about not using hardcore -- EAT ALL THE FOOD!!

- If yes, bubblegum with unleash a fancy chain of scripted events to make your gaming experience more immersive. The new effect will be labeled "Stave Off Hunger" and will boost your starvation rating by 10 points for 5 minutes ('cause it fills your tummy somewhat while you chew, of course). It'll also restore 5 HP. After the 5 minutes have passed, you will toss away the disgusting rancid goop and enjoy a Charisma boost of 1 point for 5 minutes because now you gots some fine fresh breath!

That is all. Isn't that amazing? Wow!


I'm pretty much done with this. As this was something I put together in another mod and figured I could share separately, I WILL NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES. I will not add to it or subtract from it. The mod is offered as-is.

I know this may not be lore-friendly or whatever. I don't care. As usual, download it or don't, I really don't mind.



>ISSUES AND COMPATIBILITY
Honestly, I didn't check to see what would happen if you stick 5 bubblegum into your mouth at once... So I'd recommend you don't. Wouldn't want to end up with your jaw fused forever, would ya? Just look at your Active Effects to check if the effects are still going or not.

This mod will obviously conflict with mods that edit bubblegum. Only the effects have been changed, so if you have a custom retexture there won't be a problem. If you're curious, this is the one I use in my game.



>HOW
To install, extract the contents of your downloaded file to your "Steam/SteamApps/Common/Fallout New Vegas/Data" folder. Then activate the mod through your preferred launcher by ticking the checkbox next to the esp. Or you can use your mod manager of choice to download the mod automatically. To uninstall, simply delete the files from your Data folder, and you're good to go. Have fun!
