Hey there, boys and gals!
Have you ever looked at your current companion and thought "Gee, you are a little too human!"? If you answered yes, then I have the mod for you! Introducing Bucket, the friendly bucket companion! He's not JUST a bucket, but a magical bucket! He can float! He can use weapons! He can communicate with you through an antiquated terminal interface! It's literally everything you have ever wanted in a companion, even if you disagree with the aforementioned statement!
That's great, Mr. Baby, but what does Bucket bring to the table?
Great question! You know how the companion wheel sucks and doesn't work? Well, Bucket does away with that, mainly because he doesn't understand wheels, but also because terminals are just better and more efficient in every way*! He also has a magical summoning device called the Bucket Beacon© that allows the user to summon Bucket, no matter where he may be! He also has many options, including stuff and things that normally go with companions. Oh, and he lives in a bucket in Boulder Beach Campground, so there's that. Totally Great Terminal Interface
Selectable follow distance
Selectable combat style
Selectable passive/aggressive
Selectable essential/nonessential (Hardcore Only)
Wait option
Teleport Beacon (works if recruited)
Tell to go to either home bucket or Lucky 38 (only available if Lucky 38 is unlocked)
Will use stimpaks (Need to keep your bucket healthy!)
Goes invisible sometimes. He doesn't know why.
Low intelligence in all aspects of life!
Install:
Use NMM. But if you're a hipster, extract everything into your Data folder.
Uninstall:
See above, but reverse.
This mod was originally designed as a compliment mod for Obscurum - Pandemic, but was created to be an independent companion mod. Get Obscurum - Pandemic here if you would like a buckety friend!

Q: Why a bucket?
A: Yes!
Q: Why a terminal instead of a Companion Wheel?
A: Because the wheel sucks. Get over it. And how else would you communicate with a bucket if it weren't with a terminal? Hmm? That's what I thought.
Q: There's something wrong with the model of the Bucket Beacon when I drop it.
A: No there isn't. If you manage to lose that, then like the magical message said: You don't deserve Bucket.
Q: Why does Bucket do dumb things sometimes?
A: He's a bucket. There's not much going on up there, if you catch my drift.
Q: Where can I find him?
A: Lounging in his bucket in Boulder Beach Campground. Don't think too hard about the size differences of his house.
Notes and stuff
All joking aside, the terminal interface proved to be difficult to work with as far as companion commands are concerned, but I made it work. I wanted this mod to be "not normal" which is why I went with a terminal because nobody else uses terminals! Also, the companion is a bucket, so there's that. He will have some quirks occasionally, which is why I added in the beacon to at least get him back to you. Please feel free to leave issues/suggestions/feedback for what you would like changed or added! I plan on adding a custom gun and a different bucket (I want the handle up instead of down) in the future, so type away!
