I know what you're thinking: jtucker40, didn't you already make a Mk. 46 mod?  It's true, I did.  This mod, however, is a port of my M249 Fallout 3 mod, one of the first mods I ever published that made use of nexus user Ub1rub's M249 model and texture.  After a considerable amount of work, I overhauled the original textures/mesh and refitted the weapon to fit flawlessly into New Vegas.

--The Hacksaw - A Unique LMG--

==Description==

This mod adds a unique M249/Mark 46 light machine gun for sale at Miguel's Westside Pawn Shop.  Features include custom sounds, fully worked diffuse/specular/environment maps, and an attachable ELCAN scope that is viewed without utilizing a separate scope mesh (similar to most first-person shooters).  Fires 5.56 ammunition, has a 100 ct fabric box magazine, and does damage slightly higher than the vanilla LMG.  I have no plans for implementing this into levelled lists.

==Requirements==

None

==Compatibility==

Adds the weapon to Miguel's inventory via script so it should be compatible with everything.

==FAQs==

Q: I have the mod installed but the weapon and scope won't show up in Miguel's inventory!
A: This probably means that his vendor inventory has refreshed and overwrote the new items.  Untick the mod esp, open your game, save, exit, retick the esp, then boot up your game.  Your problem should be fixed.

==Changelog==

Version 1.1
-Tweaked the textures to make the metals a little lighter and the plastics a little darker
-Added some inscriptions on the lower receiver; "Hacksaw" and some tally marks
-Added a companion version of the weapon in the GECK if you want your followers to use a scoped version of the gun (has a value of 0 and has to be obtained using the console
-Removed some excess image files in the archive that were taking up space

Version 1.0
-Original upload

==Future Plans==

I wanted to make a custom belt-loading animation, however seeing as the GECK handles animations by overwriting existing ones, it would have to overwrite an existing reload anim to work.  Would probably cause too many problems with compatibility to be worth doing.  We'll see.

-Compatibility with Grunt perk from Honest Hearts DLC
-Compatibility with FNV Dust Mod

==Permissions==

If you want to use this in a future mod project, I guess there isn't really much I can do to stop you seeing as I am not the original creator of the 3d model.  If you do plan on doing so, contact me beforehand.

Ub1rub - as far as I know Ub1rub is the original creator of the model, he uploaded it here a while ago asking for someone to make it into a mod so I took up the reins.

Please let me know if there are any issues so I can fix them.
