About this mod

Adds 17 cowboy hats all with custom textures, some in Chet's shop, some scattered around and all in a sack hidden near Goodsprings.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Update 3.28.2015
  • Adds nine new hats for a grand total of 17, all with new textures that are normalmapped so they pop in all the right ways
  • Each basic hat has a basic headgear enchantment, plus there's a variant of each one with a unique enchantment
  • Chet sells the eight basic hats, which are also displayed in his store
  • Each of the nine others is placed in familiar interiors throughout the Mojave (one copy of each, and you're likely to find them during a normal game -- nowhere too obscure)
  • The eponymous Sackful of Hats contains all 17, but it's been moved -- it's still in a spot that overlooks Goodsprings Source, but you'll have to beat around the bush to find it

About
Some 10-gallon hats for your 9.5-gallon head

For my money, the only right way to play New Vegas is with a western-themed character, but I was disappointed at the paucity of good cowboy hats. This mod adds eight new hats drawn from cowboy tropes, other cowboy-related media and some of my own ideas. Most use vanilla meshes and one uses Daniel's hat from Honest Hearts (DLC required), and two use one of dragbody's meshes from Courier's Cache.  I had a lot of fun making them so chances are I'll be adding more.

You'll find them all in a sack in Goodsprings Source, behind the wrecked car on the outcropping overlooking the camping trailer. Right now they all use the same stats and icons as the vanilla cowboy hats.

Installation
Drag and drop into your Data folder so the .esp is in that folder, the texture files are in the textures folder and the mesh files are in the meshes folder.

Conflicts

None that I'm aware of, unless something changes the exact same spot I placed the sack. I tested them on men, women and robots without issue, but please let me know if you find clipping or anything.
