This mod decreases your speed when running backwards, so now you can't just run away at top speed while shooting
that deathclaw. You have to pick one or the other, and live with the
consequences. Much needed tactical depth, or tedious, unnecessary
realism? You be the judge.

Questdog's two-cents:
This mod was essential for me in Fallout and I needed to have it in New Vegas, so I converted it.  Works exactly like the Fallout version.  Console commands to customize the file:

"set backpedalspeed to x" where x is a number between 0 and 100.  100 equals backpedaling speed the same as running speed.
"set backpedalagility to x" where x is either 0 or 1.  Setting to 1 makes your backpedaling speed dependent on your agility stat.  Set to 0 to make agility irrelevant.

Default settings are that you backpedal at 50% of your running speed regardless of your agility score.
