Magic crafting for healing, skill buffs, ammo and caps. Works on companions.

Magic Campfires

Requires NVSE.


Go up to any campfire and activate to light the magic fire.  Once lit, you can activate it again to gain access to magic crafting. The magic fire will open like a container.  Throw into the magic fire certain items to create different magical effects.  The magic campfire has an effective range of about 10 to 15 feet in radius, and health and skill buff spells will affect both player and NPCs.


Listed below are not only the ingredients required, but the order in which the spells are created.  So if you throw in enough items for two different spells, only the spell highest on the list will be produced.  Extra unneeded items will be destroyed.  These recipes are also included as a note in your Pipboy.


Healing - 1 Stimpak. Each additional item increases the magnitude.  An extra 60 seconds is added to the burn time of the magic fire.  1 stimpak will heal 1 unit of health on HP and parts once per second.  1 stimpak + any other item will heal two units of health per second. 1 stimpak + 2 items will heal 3 units per second, and so on.

Wealth - 1 cap. 1 additional cap created for each extra item with the cap. This is also the default.  Items found that don't match any recipe will be turned into 1 cap each. Only applies to the player.

Ammo - 1 ammo. 1 additional ammo duplicated for each item put into the magic fire with it. Will only duplicate the first ammo found. Only applies to the player.


The following skill buffs award +10 for 5 minutes.


Increased Barter - 1 burned book + Empty Nuka-Cola Bottle (NukaColaBottle)

Increased Critical Chance - 1 burned book + Coffee Mug (CoffeeMug01)

Increased Energy Weapons - 1 burned book + Ashtray (Ashtray)

Increased Explosives - 1 burned book + Tin Can (TinCan01)

Increased Guns - 1 burned book + Sunset Sarsaparilla Deputy Badge (SSHQDeputyBadge)

Increased Lockpick - 1 burned book + Cigarette (Cigarette01)

Increased Medicine - 1 burned book + Empty Sunset Sarsaparilla Bottle (SSBottleEmpty)

Increased Melee Weapons - 1 burned book + Milk bottle (Milkbottle01)

Increased Repair - 1 burned book + Bent Tin Can (TinCan02)

Increased Science - 1 burned book + Pencil (Pencil01)

Increased Sneak - 1 burned book + Drinking Glass (DrinkingGlass02)

Increased Speech - 1 burned book + Shot Glass (ShotGlass01)

Increased Survival - 1 burned book + White Plate (Plate01)

Increased Unarmed - 1 burned book + Empty WhiskeyBottle (WhiskeyBottle01Empty01)


Burned books include large or small, ruined, scorched or destroyed versions.


Exit the magic fire's container and the spell will be cast.  Have Fun!


Campfire flame visuals based on code found in the "Burning Campfire" mod by Sagittarius22. However, Magic Campfires is compatible.  You will still need to light a magic fire though.
