COURIER 6 NOVAC COMPOUND (Full and LITE versions available):

Courier 6 Novac Compound adds to the sphere of influence that Courier 6 Goodsprings Compound began. It gives Courier 6 a small, regional, but highly functional, compound/safehouse in Novac. This was crafted in the spirit of the Goodsprings Compound, and is the second installment in the Courier 6 Compound/Safehouse mod series.

The Novac Compound, like its Goodsprings Compound counterpart, is a detailed, custom-crafted environment available upon the Courier’s arrival in Novac. It has ample space, storage, items, amenities, and interfaces and is well-suited for Hardcore gameplay. There are four unique weapons included. Courier 6 Novac Compound is smaller in size, and contains less loot and resources, than the Courier 6 Goodsprings Compound. This is because it is intended to work with the Goodsprings Compound, which already has many resources included; and also because it is a regional home, and an extended, remote base from which the Courier can operate and conduct missions. It gives a safe area in the east where Courier 6 can drop loot, get some needed rest, make a meal, store items, and repair their gear. There are still many resources included, just not to the level of the Goodsprings Compound. Unlike its Goodsprings counterpart, the Novac Compound is a more secure facility, is semi-hardened, and is enclosed in a locked chain link fence with a lookout tower. See photos for details.
 

There are two versions of this mod: The Full Novac compound and the LITE version. Full version is the compound (see list below and pictures) stocked with weapons, unique weapons, caps, some armors, and many ingredients and consumables. The LITE version is the same compound, but most stocked and placed items, as well as Courier 6 unique weapons, and vanilla weapons and armor are removed. I have also removed the SM Vending Machine in the LITE version. If you decide to download both, make sure you only activate one version of the Courier 6 Novac Compound at a time. 

I have used assets from across the main game and all DLCs to craft this mod, so you will need all DLCs and add-ons to enjoy everything it has to offer. This mod is built purely from vanilla assets, so there is nothing that will crash or muck up your game.
 

I made this series of mods for me, plain and simple. My intent was to make myself a one-stop Courier 6-worthy compound in Goodsprings, then expand that concept to smaller regional safehouses/compounds that are widely functional and broadly applicable to Courier 6’s wide-open backstory, allowing Courier 6 to spread their influence across the Mojave. I’ve only decided recently to release these to the community in the event anyone was still looking for THAT (rather “THOSE”) house mod(s).
 

I’ve personally always seen Courier 6 as a person of ambition and action, who refused to accept the world as it was, who actively worked to make it a far better place than the utterly ruined wasteland they inherited…somebody who was more than a mere courier (their day job that allowed extensive travel); someone who was actively engaged in this pursuit long before taking a bullet to the brain pan. Someone who would be quite at home in New Vegas. If that doesn’t fit your Courier, well, pure ambition, with various shades of gray, works well as a backstory. I have my own backstory for my couriers and this series of mods, but I have purposely avoided imposing that on other players, forgoing computer terminals and holotapes, (although there may be a few down the road to help tie the compounds and safehouses together), and leave it up to each user to craft their own backstories for how and why these facilities are present in the game world.
 

The highlights below should give you an idea of what’s included in the full compound. Take your time, explore it, play with it, and test it all out, and most of all, have fun. I’ve taken up much of the land just south of the Novac Diner, so any mod you have on your game that might rely on that area will probably be affected. 
 


COURIER 6 NOVAC COMPOUND (FULL VERSION) INCLUDES:  
              
* A secure, fenced-in compound (locked – [keys in mailbox outside front gate])
* A single, custom home within the compound with dual entry points (locked – [keys in mailbox outside front gate])
               
* Fully Nav-meshed interiors and exteriors and integrated into environment (some things have been rearranged in the Novac Diner area environment to fit the compound in. Everything has been re-navmeshed to ensure seamless and “natural” integration.
               
* Lookout tower
            
* Map Marker for quick travel
            
* Lore friendly environment
            
* Crafting oven

* Two reusable chemistry sets (random loot).

* New Vegas radio throughout interior… you can toggle off if you wish, of course.
            
* Courier 6 unique weapons include a unique melee weapon and three unique guns. These have been added to appropriate perk lists, and work with the Jury Rigging perk. (See Weapons Note below).
            
* Courier 6 Novac Compound supplements, and works well with, Courier 6 Goodsprings Compound to extend the base of operations for the Courier across the Mojave. However, Courier 6 Goodsprings Compound is not required to play this mod, in the event you are only looking for a solid Novac home.
 

WEAPONS:

Courier 6’s unique weapons have been enhanced, re-statted and re-sounded. The focus of the Courier 6 weapons included in this mod centered around the 12.7mm series of weapons, that I largely ignored for the most part in the Courier 6 Goodpsprings Compound. Most have had firing rates adjusted. All have had spreads tightened, DAM/DPS overhauled, and AP use adjustments to hit harder and more accurately, and feel better overall in gameplay. There are two copies of each Courier 6 unique weapon in the mod. Weapons include: Courier 6 12.7mm Hand Cannon, 12.7mm SMG, 12.7mm Survivalist and Kombat Katana. 
 ((I added a Courier 6-ified [seriously, that's a word] version of the Survivalist Rifle at the requests of users of the Courier 6 Goodsprings Compound)).

The full version of the Courier 6 Novac Compound gives players a lot of resources, as I have been fairly generous with stocked items and weapons, so it would be considered overpowered. For the sake of game balance, I have added the LITE version, for those players who want to retain balance in their game.
 

COMPATIBILITY:

I’ve play tested this mod on a full run and have found no incompatibilities. But as with anything, YMMV with your rig, load order, and whatever mods you run. As I said above, any mods that rely on the land area south of Novac Diner will more than likely be affected. Novac overhauls MIGHT be affected. Courier 6 unique weapons should be compatible with WMX and WRP. As I also stated above, I built this mod purely from vanilla assets, so there absolutely is nothing included here that can crash or freeze your game. I would recommend loading it toward the bottom of your load order.
 

I have play tested this mod with a controller as well, and it worked perfectly.  
 

REQUESTS:
 

The one request I won’t entertain at all is that of adding auto sorters. I do not like them, and I will not add them. I have placed a couple of drop and ready boxes at the inside entrance of the home if you wish to manually drop things for later pick-up/sorting/junking/selling though. My request to users is that you let me know of any major problems you might encounter. Just because it plays virtually flawless for me isn’t necessarily a 100% guarantee it will for you…although it should play at least serviceably. This particular compound required a lot of external Navmeshing to make it fit in seamlessly into the surrounding cell, so let me know of any problems, and I will try to rectify them. I’ve tested and re-tested, and everything is functional nav-wise, to include the area within the fence, the ramp up to the lookout tower, and the surrounding areas outside the fence.
 

ONLY KNOWN ISSUES:
 

Placed Item Shuffle: There are many  placed items in the full version of this mod. As is to be expected, if you pick one thing up, it tends to shuffle the items around it. If it really bothers you, reload (although I never recommend re-loading an auto save) and attempt to pick up the wanted item; you tend to get less shuffle that way. Of course, you can just pick-up and rearrange things the way you want as well…or dump it all in containers…OR just download the LITE version and be done with it! :) I haven’t had any problems with my Couriers or companions walking by placed items and them moving or falling.
 

Multiple companion follower mods can get a little wonky, in a custom built area (or the main game for that matter), but interiors and exteriors of Courier 6 Novac Compound are fully Nav-meshed. There is a fence around the compound and sometimes followers don’t play well with fences. I haven’t had any issues with this compound
though. Multiple followers worked well during testing, indoors and outdoors.
