Wondering why the world model shows a pair of glasses, yet when you put them on, you see nothing on your character? That's beause your character is SO AWESOME that he/she/it removes the glass from the glasses, and then INSERTS THEM INTO THEIR OWN EYES. And for the sake of convenience, he/she stores the pieces of glass in their old frames when they are taken out.
Pick them up in the Goodsprings Schoolhouse. The last guy who wore them died there when he danced around the bugs, did unspeakable things to them without getting caught, and then shot himself because he thought even bullets couldn't find him.
