About this mod

Single-shot Browning model 1885 High Wall in .45-70 Gov.
Single piece for testing, no other implementation.
Part of the (hopefully) slightly bigger, fully integrated rifle-mod - that's why it is alpha-1

NOTE: As a Millenia's package user, I have installed following mods:
The Weapon Mod Menu
Weapon Animation Replacers

Weapon Animation Replacers FOMOD
therefore, if you don't have it the 2nd (3rd), your sights alignement may be of center. This is not an issue for me.
The first one is highly recomended, as it allows to take of the scope and put it back. The scope is not suited for closer fights, where open sights do a very good job. But it shines at distances far beyond the sights effective reach

Why alpha?

More rifles were planned. But I am running out of free time for a moment and I want put out at least something than keep it forever. And I don't want to make implementation into the FA:NV world several times, when it can be done at a same time. So I don't have to learn things and do testing 2-3 times :(

What is coming next?
Two more classic rifles (another single shot and 1 little surprise), one in 1-2 variations, one more scope.

When is it done?
When it is done. I have to do skin-work, testing, implementation. It is surprisigly time consuming. Hope for Christmas present. I do :)

Why this, not another, I would prefer ...?
I was asked by one guy to do that (I more-or-less missed existence of this rifle btw.) and as it turned out to be relatively easy rework of my Farquharson, I did so. It even share parts.

May I also ask for?
Waste of time. I have already dropped idea for 2 another rifles I like and on my HDD are waiting another 2 more rifles I would love to have, 2 revolvers and 1 explosive package. With this speed, I have work for at least 2 years. If anybody still plays this game ...

I tested the rifle and found this and that ...
It is alpha, although finished besides implementation. _m-maps are very primitive, I would try to work on them - no time for now.
But I may make a few repairs. Keep in mind, I have very low knowledge on 3d, normal maps, skining, so please: don't believe in miracle and keep suggestions low.

Round during reload flies little bit strange ...
Animation issue. Same as in case of my Farquharson, just a little bit different solution. You have few choices:
1. leave animation as is. This makes HUGE cartridge pop-up during reload, temporary obstructing sights. IMHO this is no-go
2. solve it with some issues, like this one
3. put loading the round well bellow chamber - may be liked more, but I like no. 2 more
4. remove round at all, so only hand moves - may be liked more, but I like no. 2 more


****************About the mod**********************
- Adds Browning model 1885 High Wall in .45-70 Gov.
- comes with 3 mods - barrel, sights and scope (custom reticle)
- it's W.I.P. mod - gun is available as a single peace placed at Goodspring's cemetery. It's otherwise not implemented into the game - this will be done, when other guns are finished and put in a single pack.
- classic, accurate single shot. Rugged and reliable with high health points.
On the other hands - it has slightly higher requirements - it's heavier and long range shooting of this round ask for real skills.

Scope has quite high magnification, compared to vanilla guns. Reticle is intentionally small (field of view of this scope is according to specs 1/3 of the FOV of modern scopes with same magnification)

Barrel improve health points of the gun.

Tang sight is more-or-less cosmetic. It improves already great accuracy, so if you don't like this sight, there is not much need to really use it.

Nobody.
Mesh is 100% my work and I am not aware of use anybody's work for the skin.
But with many trial-and-error work on the skins, I may have forgotten something. Should you find anything you consider yours, contact me.
I also used other mods for learning how to import everything in to the game, make script etc. - as far as I remember, nothing was directly used. Again, if I have forgotten anything, let me know, please.
