About this mod

This is a basic mod which changes the original UI (Use interface) sounds to more suitable ones. Abit older sounding and western. Enjoy. (Theres abit more yeehaw)

This will change all the sounds including title music, pipboy sounds, health sounds, experience and level up sounds, all quest sounds and much more.

V6 - U P D A T E:
Includes improved content which isn't represented in the videos below, please use this and/or update your existing files for this mod.

I promise the new version is much better, alot of the sounds have been overhauled to be less annoying and fit to more peoples tastes. V6 changes some of the minor sounds but keeps many from the original mod. I think this will be the last version as I consider it complete...let me know what you think.
Feel free to customise the mod by deleting/replacing sounds and choosing or suggesting optional/older downloads in the files section.

V6 Specifically changes the death music, addiction, wearoff, pipboy, XP and reputation sounds with some adjustments to the volume of other sound effects.

To achieve the same sound volumes as me to ensure the mod isn't too loud. These are my current settings and suggested audio volumes:
Master 100%
Music 50%
Footstep 80%
Voice 100%
Effects 75%
Radio 100%

If you find the level up sound plays whenever you kill something you must either remove the level up sound or TURN OFF CINEMATIC KILL CAM in gameplay settings.

The Longer Death music also includes one of the game over lines from the original fallout. I thought this would add something for the role players out there, if you don't like it there is an optional version. Or just remove the file.

I recommend using one of these mods for the extended death music:
Longer death cam
Fade To Black Visual Death

SuperSonic Bullet Cracks For Fallout New Vegas:
V6 now has an optional file that adds super sonic bullet cracks into the game. I decided to make this mod after realising the lack of such, thought I might as well upload it here as an optional file if anyone is interested in more realistic bullet fly by sound effects. If you don't realise an instant difference with this it's because the sounds aren't too loud for bullet whizzes by default. If anything it makes the sounds more subtle. The Original sounds for this optional file where sourced from videos online of people shooting towards cameras.

The information and examples below are now obsolete but feel free to listen and read anyway, Thankyou.

Please read the whole description before consulting me about about copyright, any issues and so on. Thank you.

There are many sounds that this mod replaces, mainly because I wanted to keep adding more to it. If you personally don't like some of the sounds just feel free to remove them from the mod and installation folder.

This is a basic mod which attempts to make the UI sounds a bit more suitable and simply western. The aim of this mod is to change most of the UI sounds so they sound more Western and exaggerated. For example there is a bit more Yee-haw! And Guitars...So you will actually feel like you are in the Mojave..not dragging your head across a dirt track.

C H A N G E ?
The following videos are previews of the sound effects. The first sounds are the vanilla then they are followed by the modded sounds. So you can compare. Please expect the sounds to seem much better, actually in the game. Sorry I didn't use in game footage.
This mod changes files found in the fx, mus and music folder in specific:

Success sound,

Death sound,

Addicted to chems and chem wear off sound,

All bottle cap sounds,

Lockpick unlock and enter lock pick sounds,

Menu, focus, okay and cancel sounds,

Pipboy access (In and out), selection and hum sounds,

ALL Pop up sounds (Experience up and quest sounds such as new, completed and quest updates),

Reputation sounds,

My personal favourite, level up sound.

New! Karma up,

New! Title music! (Preview)

To install drop and drag the sound and music file into your fallout new vegas installation Data directory. Mine is B:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Fallout New Vegas/Data.

MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS TOO!: set bInvalidateOlderFiles 1 in the Fallout.ini.
Go to your documents, my games then fallout new vegas then open fallout.ini. It should open a notepad document. type cntrl+F to find and put in bInvalidateOlderFiles and set the number following it to 1 if it is not already.

Or simply install through NMM.

Drop and drag the Replacement file into the same place. (IT WILL WORK JUST DELETING MY FILES)

Or simply uninstall with NMM.

FYI I downloaded all of the sound files used and modified from FREE And respectable sources! For example...Freesounds.org. I have NOT copied any content from anything I identified as copyrighted. ALL sounds i used came from royalty free etc. websites
Source of most files used: http://www.freesound.org/ Bare in mind I have modified all the files.

Some of the new sounds came from Soundsnap.com. This includes the title music! and other sounds and music used!

Special thanks to Radio Mall for royalty free music.

I S S U E?
The only known issue with this mod is the level up sound playing when killing an NPC. It appears only 3 people out of 800 odd people (At this moment) have had this problem. it is something to do with their GECK or extensive mod orders (It can't be this mod this only places new sounds in the data folder, it doesn't change anything to with GECK but still...it happens)

TO FIX: If this happens to you just pause then disable the cinematic kill cam in gameplay settings.
Thought I'd add this for your concern do not be put off by it.

(OLD fix but here in case)
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE KILLING NOISE PLAYING! JUST LAUNCH THE GAME FROM IT ORIGINAL LAUNCHER ONCE THEN RETURN TO THE NMM OR NVMM! THIS UPDATES THE .ini FILE! One user says this has worked for them! Please do it so you do not have any issues!

Massive thanks to Johny Evilguy for finding the fix!
With feedback from you guys I have made many improvements to this, THANK YOU everyone for your helpful comments and messages it is very much appreciated!

Thankyou Mahnogard and all those who helped, downloaded and commented!
