**This mod will grant you a brain-damaged companion in addition to a new omnipresent character at the Lucky 38 after completing a short quest. Keep Caesar’s Legion non-hostile until you complete the mod’s final quest… No matter how much you want to kill them for the sass they give you. Ahem.
Oh boy. Where do I begin? This is Cheese. Cheese is special. He was once a centurion. Now he’s a burden that the Legion can’t seem to get rid of. Well, until you came along. How did this brain-damaged man escape their clutches and avoid detection? Who knows? But you’ve found him...Cause ya know the courier’s cool like that. Cheese has been given a pass because he listens to you—and you listen to Caesar. For now.
Cheese is a commitment. That’s right. If you decide to take care of him you can’t get rid of him. You’ll need to find someone who will care for him at the Lucky 38 when he’s not off adventuring with you—and none of your current companions are up to the challenge.
If having an idiot man-child with you sounds like fun, you can find him in Goodsprings near the dumpsters.
-PERK: Cheese gives you the Nom Nom Nom perk which gives you +30% rad resistance and +25 to survival.
-ADDITIONAL PERMANENT PERK: After you complete his main quest.
-ITEMS: Cheese confiscates items from profligates and will give you what he finds daily—if you ask him. (Super Stimpack, Whiskey [good for pairing with Cass as long as you have good karma], and RadAway) May change the items if people suggest a better combo. If this makes the game “too easy” just don’t ask him for them.
-FUN: He likes Dino Toys. But not those Dinky ones. Those smell.
-FEED: If you have something in your inventory that he will eat, a prompt will come up. He likes to eat delicious, junky snacks the most of course. You may give him 1 dirty water and 1 purified water per day to keep him hydrated.
-Omnipresent L38 character bonuses: Healing, Removal of Rads, food daily (which you can give to Cheese).
He does have a companion wheel. Everything should be working. Fingers crossed. Please yell at me if something is broken.
QUESTS:
-Troo to Seizure: [Trigger by asking him a question, or finding the quest item.]
-Recycle: [Triggers by saying you should take him to The Fort after having the Mark of Caesar in your inventory, or by picking the quest item up, or by talking to Lucius about Cheese—prompt won’t show up if it’s your first time talking to him.]
-Eternal Babysitter: [Trigger by asking him to leave.]
-CHEESE SMASH! [Trigger this final quest by completing Eternal Babysitter. At the end you will get Cheese’s FINAL armor—which you will give him IF YOU’RE NICE. shakes fist]
If you have any suggestions, helpful tips, ect. Or if something isn\'t working--I would love to hear from you! Also this is not voiced. I have no idea how to add voice but maybe I will add it in an update sometime. Maybe.
IMPORTANT: How are you going to read this description and then think there aren’t going to be mistakes? There will be mistakes! I probably messed up something vital…This is my first time creating anything with Geck. Make several saves before adding this mod so that if you find it messed up anything you can revert to those.
This should make hardcore mode easier, me thinks. So if you hate that…then…um. Sorry.
Only requires the new vegas base game for the mod to work. Only one file, easy peasy! To install move CheeseCompanion.esp to your data folder and make sure it’s checked in your data files when starting the game. To uninstall just delete CheeseCompanion.esp from your data folder.
