About this mod

One oversized fantasy axe

Permissions and credits
WHAT IT DOES

It adds a richly decorated and massively oversized axe, called the "Epix Great Axe". Unlike some of my other mods, this is NOT a historical weapon.

Note: I mean "massively oversized" by the standards of historical war weapons. Historical axes had much smaller and much thinner heads. By video game or manga standards, however, it's not oversized at all.

The axe is loosely inspired by some oversized axes in WoW or City Of Heroes, though the actual mesh and texture are new and built from scratch. Though without some of the funky protrusions and whatnot. It's still supposed to be a functional weapon, albeit one that realistically would need about 50 strength to swing effectively.

You probably can't see that well in the screenshots, but it actually has normal map and bump map, so the artwork on the blade looks actually embossed in the right lighting, not just painted on.

The weapon IS very powerful, but needs 100 skill. I.e., the damage and accuracy start more moderate, but increase as your skill increases, all the way to 100.

It is on par for DPS, base damage, speed and AP with my Epix Greatsword from the Epix Blades pack.

HOW TO GET IT

I gave it to Chet in Goodsprings. You can buy it there whenever you have the money.

HOW TO INSTALL IT

Extract the archive, with directories, in your "fallout new vegas\Data" folder. Select it in the list of plugin files in the launcher.

HOW TO UNINSTALL IT

Delete the .esp file from your Data directory.

Delete the MEpixAxe directory in both the Meshes and Textures directories.

CONFLICTS

It shouldn't conflict with anything, though if you have a lot more than 100 mods or so, the game engine will start glitching. This is not a problem of this mod per se, but if you add this and crap happens, try removing some mods.

LICENSE

For my own work, I release it in the public domain. You can do anything you wish with it. I would, of course, appreciate it if you give credit, but if not, so be it, I can live with that too.

The golden artwork on the blade, though, is nicked (and re-processed) from Obsidian's mysterious gun texture. You can use that for other New Vegas mods, but I can't give you permission to that piece if you want to port it to another game. It's simply not mine to give.
