Description
Adds several canteens to the wastes. They can be filled with almost anything from pure water to Scotch. Fillable from water sources, bar taps or even your inventory, no campfire needed! Weight changes as you drink for realism. Compatible with ALL other canteen/water mods. Each new canteen comes with a new drink that you can make.

Requirements
NVSE v1.0 beta 4 or higher
If you do not have NVSE, the canteens will NOT appear in the gameworld.

History
v1.02 12/07/10
-Toggled Food/Medicine Flags on almost all canteens. Effects will now scale with skills like vanilla items.

v1.01 12/07/10
-Fixed bug causing canteen weight/uses to reset when loading the game. How did no one catch this until now?
-Empty Canteen Message will now only show up when dropping, and not adding to containers, etc.

v1.00, 11/24/10
-Initial Release

Location
The canteens are scattered across the wastes. Each one is associated with a faction and their location corresponds to that faction. The Goodsprings canteen is located near Goodsprings Source (see screenshots.) You're on your own for the remaining nine canteens. Most are in obvious spots and very visible. You can find a spoilers file in the optional download section, but you really shouldn’t need it.

Details
The canteens can hold up to 10 uses of their contents. The canteen itself weights 1wg and each use weighs 0.5wg, giving a full canteen a weight of 6wg. Each time you use your canteen, you will be notified by a message as to how many uses are remaining. Between the weight and the messages, you should be able to tell how many uses you have left. Having the Pack Rat perk makes determining the amount of uses left a little more difficult if you are only looking at weight. There are a total of 10 different canteens, each with its own texture and icon. The textures and icons are the only way to tell the 10 apart, as they all are called canteen.

Filling a Canteen
There are two ways to fill a canteen, via a source or via your inventory. You can only fill an empty canteen, so if there’s any uses left in the canteen, you will need to empty it (see below) before filling.

-To fill from a source, first crouch (sneak) and then activate the source. You will be prompt with a message, select "Fill canteen with XXXX." When you fill from a water source, you will either get Purified Water, Dirty Water or Irradiated Water depending on the quality of the source. You can also fill your canteen with beer or sarsaparilla from bar taps. Note that there is nothing telling you that you can activate the taps, just take it on faith. Only one canteen is filled at a time and you cannot pick which canteen is filled if you have more than one empty canteen. Sources include: standing water, drink activators (sinks etc.) and bar taps.

-To fill from your inventory, simply "use" your empty canteen and a recipe menu will appear allowing you to fill your canteen.
Filling your canteen requires no skill, as you are just dumping the contents into your canteen. However, the new drinks do have
associated skill requirements. You can fill your canteen with: Pure water, dirty water, irradiated water, absinthe, atomic
cocktail, beer, nukacola, nukacola:quartz, nukacola:victory, ice cold nukacola, irradiated beer, irradiated scotch, irradiated
whiskey, moonshine, rum & nuka, sunset sarsaparilla, scotch, vodka, whiskey or wine.

Emptying a Canteen
If you want to empty your canteen, simply drop it. A message will appear asking you if you want to drop it or empty it. There is a bug that if you drop a completely full canteen, you sometimes won't be prompt with the message, just pick up the canteen and try again, it works on the second try.

Hotkeys
You can hotkey your canteen, but you will have to reset the hotkey every time you refill the canteen.

New Recipes
Whenever you find a new canteen, it will have a few uses left of a new substance. Once you obtain the new substance, you will be able to create it in any of the canteens.

-Cowboy Coffee (Goodsprings): Caffeinated Beverage
-Meal Ready to Drink aka MRD (NCR): Acts as both food and drink
-Roman Wine (Legion): Boost to Crit Chance + all the benefits of wine.
-Prickly Pear Martini (The Strip): Look as good as James Bond
-Royale Cola (Boomers): Caffeinated alcohol with AP boost
-Paladin Essence (Brotherhood of Steel): Boost all combat skills.
-Iodine (Followers): Combination of RadAway and Rad-X, just weaker and cheaper.
-Armor Glue (Crimson Caravan): Repairs your weakest piece of equipped armor by 15%
-Gun Oil (Gun Runners): Repair equipped weapon by 15%
-Kin-Nip (State of Utobitha): Boost to sneak and stealth field.

Challenge
There is also a new challenge associated with Collectible Canteens. After drinking from a canteen 500 times, the weight of all canteens is reduced by half. You also get 75xp; this challenge is repeatable for xp.

Optional Version
I have also included an optional .esp that removes the health boosts from all canteens. To install, first download the primary file and install as usual. Then download the optional file and replace the .esp.

Update from 1.00 to 1.01
Just replace the esp.
If you already have completed the challenge:
1) Load the game.
2) Wait about 20 seconds, then save the game and exit to desktop.
3) Start game and load your last save.

In either case, all your canteens will be reset. But from now on will work properly.

Install
1. Extract the files to (install folder) Fallout New Vegas\Data
2. Start Fallout New Vegas Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside .esp
3. Enjoy

Uninstall
1. Delete the files/folders associated with the mod:
Data\Collectible Canteens.esp
Data\Textures\interface\icons\pipboyimages\items\FEE
Data\Textures\interface\icons\pipboyimages\perks\FEE

Incompatibility
None. This mod does not change anything, it only adds stuff. There is only one possible way this mod will conflict with another mod, it would occur when filling from a source. However it is extremely easy to fix, so let me know if this conflict ever exists.

Known Issues or Bugs
-Canteen weight may reset if you load another character without exiting the game. You can fix this by either exiting the game, or using the canteen. This is a bug with NVSE, hopefully the NVSE team will fix it.
-Do not use the canteens without NVSE running. You will permanently loose the canteen.
-Whenever you change the canteen's type (by emptying, filling or drinking the last use) while in the pipboy menu, the new canteen will not appear in your inventory immediately. Simply refresh your inventory by closing the pipboy menu, then reopening it.
-If you drop a completely full canteen, you sometimes won't be prompt with the empty message. Just pick up the canteen and try again, it works on the second try.
-If you fill a canteen with Sunset Sarsaparilla via inventory AFTER you have completed the star cap quest, you will still get 1 star cap and 9 normal caps. In accordance with the game, you should only get 10 normal caps..
-Since NVSE is still in beta, there may still be bugs associated with NVSE functions.
