Wow! I have been dreaming of a revolver-holster to fit on my right hip, but don't have the know-how to make one

Any chance that you might release that holster as a stand-alone (as I play as a male char)?

I have been trying to figure out what kind of options I'll eventually release when I put the outfit into circulation and having each holster with the requisite hardware as separate items is a serious consideration.

The thing is, unless you can do some resizing, it would still be sized to fit on a female body [more specifically Cass' jeans]. With any accessory you'd need to pick one specific outfit to fit it to or acknowledge that it's going to be loose and not fit anything very well.

Which holster are you meaning, though? I'm guessing you mean the upper one on the hip with the snubbie in it? I'll point out right off the bat, in case you haven't read, that that's merely a static prop and not functional. The only way to make such a thing work would be to get someone to modify your drawing and sheathing animations as well as customize your skeleton to fit the proper attachment spot for the weapon. What that means is unless you're an animation and rigging wizard, the best you can hope for on the literal hip is a cosmetic accessory.

If I'm wrong, and you're referring to the holster on the lower right thigh, it can be done and made functional but like I said earlier, you'd need to pick exactly one outfit and likely one specific weapon to work with it. With Ramona's thigh holster I had to get the position by trial and error, exporting the holster and trying it out in game then repositioning it and exporting over and over until I got the spot right then I was able to import the intended weapon into Blender to fit the holster around and remove the weapon before exporting again.

I'm going to be blunt and candid here. I've been working with this game for what will be four years in exactly ten days. When I learned I could mod the game, I discovered the only way to get a mod exactly the way I wanted it was to put it that way myself. I'm happy to share and demonstrate anything I've learned along the way, but the only person who will jump on your project with your vision and enthusiasm is you. Once you get to the point where you can make that vision reality, you're going to realize how much power you have over the game and it's going to be an amazingly exciting thing and there will always be more to learn.

Thnx for the fast and detailed response

I was referring to the lower holster, and I realize that clipping would be an issue with almost every outfit, wich in my opinion isn't a dealbreaker in any way.
I have been using the holster by Heavensturkey wich looks very tactical and not very cowboy, and also clips like a motherflipper. And yet I still love it, i just sorta wanted a good looking cowboy-holster for my .357.

I have been looking at Niveas outfits and their holsters and sorta dreamed of learning how to take that holster-mesh and place it on my right hip, but alas my time is limited and I just haven't found the time

So when I saw your holster I could almost hear a heavenly choir and my jaw dropped.
This being said I understand (or rather I have no idea) that these things take a lot of time and that everyone is gonna want this and that to fit their personal preference and that you can't take it all into account when you work.

If I get a sweet cowboy-holster I'm gonna be super happy (even there is some clipping), if not, I fully understand
Thank you for the work you have put in

Yeah, the base of the "tactical" holster is from the same place Havensturkey's came from and the cowboy style holster is the same place Nivea got hers for Spice of Life. If you haven't already, look into a mod called TG's Armor Collection it's by thatguy10, I believe. If you find one of the outfits in there that you like, but want the holster empty perhaps I can easily walk you through how to make that happen without installing too much complicated software - just Nifskope.

I checked out the armor collection you suggested, and there are some outfits that has cowboy-holsters on the right hip (with a gun in them already though). Thing is the holsters are placed to high on the hip so even if the existing gun were to be removed the gun that was equipped would not be placed in the holster

Could i somehow take just the holster, not the belt it was attached to or the rest of the outfit and make it stand-alone, similar to the heavensturky holster? Would this be possible in say nifskope? I don't want to pester you with these questions so if you think it is possible I will look into it myself as far as I can

It might be possible in Nifskope, but I'd seriously recommend Blender for the task. If I recall correctly, what you propose wouldn't be too hard as I _think_ the holster is separate from the belt - The sort of interaction point is the loop at the top of the holster. Your end result would be somewhat like the holster Mona has for her Raging Bull in these images, just without the pad it's anchored to.

While you're at it, you might want to make two versions - one adjusted lower for where revolvers sit and one a bit higher for autoloaders.

    Sorry for the lateness...

    Great stuff Brig!
Not totally sold on the gecko skin either. I do like the asymmetrical look of the sleeved version myself though. And Lady Luck sure does look good all snuzzled up on Mona's hip!
Again, all the "tech" talk is over my head but nice job showcasing your work and sharing the progress.

Fun choice in music for sure! Seems that FBC has an eclectic taste!

You're right on time for responding to right now so it all works out.

Thanks for taking a look at what I've been working on outside of writing. It's kind of funny, splitting my time and energies on so many things now but it's all a lot of fun and feels like I'm actually accomplishing something when I've got it done and I'm testing or proofreading it.

I'd never thought of myself as an "artist" and still don't, but I can easily understand now why some artists, while being very good at what they're known for, will try other techniques or media. There's a lot to be said for being able to express oneself in multiple ways.

Beautiful outfit Brig! Lady Luck, now that's a cutie. Patch loves that snubie basterd and is constantly begging me to feature it again (it's the one that saved him in Vault 11)

Thank you and it's great to see you again! Patch wants more screen time with Lady Luck, what he's not happy to have his Mateba back?

You can be so insensitive, you know that? Imagine me without one of my babies guns, I'd be a wreck.

Ok, maybe you've got a point, but it's Patch...

      show some compassion, willya?

Fine, fine. Good luck getting your snubbie bastard back, Patch.

      You're hopeless.

You know how these characters are. You give a mouse a cookie... I'd say he needs some more discipline, but then he'd be nowhere to be found when I finally come around to shoot the pics for the next episode

Very cool outfit for Mona. I personally love the one sleeve look, I imagine it gets somewhat hot with all that black, so some skin showing might provide some relief when a breeze comes around.

She's definitely not lacking in guns... I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to try anything around her.

Thank you, I'm definitely liking the single sleeve over none the more I'm seeing it lately. The jacket is more for practical protection when combat is imminent. I'm working on a cooler [meaning less warm] traveling coat for on the road.

You'd think nobody would mess with her, but some people are hungry, crazy, or just desperate.

Thanks Des, I'm glad you like it. Folks are probably getting sick of me going on about how fun it is to customize stuff now, but it really is a blast! She won't be getting any of this stuff for a while yet, but it needs to be ready so that she can have it when it's time.

Sorry for being late to the party. Well, you know why First - the music. Very different and very fascinating. Those guys remind me of the british punk band The Toy Dolls: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toy_dolls. Music is differnent but skill is the same as is their acting.
second - and most importantly...... Monas outfit. You are making good progress for sure. I really like that jacket - with or without sleeves. I was never keen on her chest plate - logical as it might be. It looks clumsy to me.

You're right on time for talking about it right now so it all works out fine. The Toy Dolls you say... I just might have heard of them.

The Toy Dolls - My Wife is a Psycopath

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnOmT70JAto

I also think their rendition of The Final Countdown is rather amusing.

Thanks for the feedback too, I'm in a "liking the jacket" phase today. I might try to further customize it. We'll see if any ideas hit me anytime soon. I'm also in the middle of finally writing TEP018 and I even shot some images for 019 last night when my ISP was out and I've got another shooting project that may or may not be on the burner since yesterday as well.

Thanks again for the response and feedback, both are greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the vid, a good one -- but you are not going to believe this. I just saw these two Cellists on Fremont Street (Freeside) last week. I thought they were the same guys for a sec, but nope they aren't Sulic and Hauser

I never saw an electric cello before. (p.s. had to push my way through 15 Elvises so GP and I could see them)

Thank you for the vote of confidence, we both really appreciate it. I can say with 100% certainty that we wouldn't be where we are today without the encouragement and support we've gotten from everyone along the way; it most definitely keeps us motivated and happy to crank out more.
