About time I caught up with you. She must have almost super human strength to carry all that gear. But of course considering her background.......! Interesting and very logical take on the MF devices. They do indeed make for some pretty good grenades. The detailing of her layout was very interesting and made sense. She somehow seems calmer now. She's got a task ahead of her and that probably foucses her mind.

Congratulations! Thanks for the time and effort put into catching up, it is greatly appreciated.

I think you're right, Mona doesn't normally carry so many heavy weapons and a decently loaded pack at the same time. I think a lot of the difference now is that she's seeing things as potentially disposable too.

Yes, I gave her the Mad Bomber perk ages ago and figured it was high time I actually did something with it storywise just like I used near ghoulification to explain the Adamantium Skeleton and Toughness perks.

Ramona really is coming into her own now and learning to accept what she can't change and to strive even harder to affect what is within the realm of possibility.

Almost missed this one Brig, glad I found it. Nice look at Mona's arsenal and an impressive collection of weapons it is. Good thing she's so strong, that's quite a load to be humping through the Divide but she's going to need every bit of it I'm thinking.

And it's good to see her get her mojo back, Butts shall be liberally kicked in good measure! Good luck Mona, and save some .50 cal for Ulysses.

I'm glad you found it too. I look forward to all responses, but was definitely hoping to read your thoughts as a hardware enthusiast. I anticipate some of her new shinies may soon go the way of her Grease Gun, but she'll have fun with them while they last.

      Thanks, Dave!

5.7 ammunition is hard enough to find right now in pre-war conditions. Any shooter worth their salt would have to master the art of reloading their own ammo. I guess shell catchers should be standard kit for any wastelander. Nice strip Brig. :p

Thanks! Funny you should mention shell catchers... I always laugh when ladies wear loose shirts at the range and catch hot brass down them.

And then there are those You Tube videos showing the gals wearing low cut tanks and plop goes the hot casing down the front of the tank, followed by a wild dance and lots of swearing . . . I laugh my head off every time. Not my choice of attire for going to the gun range.

Not my choice of attire for any situation, really. When going casual it's usually a T shirt or sleeveless T when it's warm enough for that.

I like loose tank tops when it's hot, but not to go out of the house in, and definitely not to the gun range. Tee-shirts, jeans, and the oh-so-feminine--not!--black utility service boots with steel toes are my choice of attire. I is a thing of beauty and a joy forever . . .

Solid, been waiting for an update on Mona. Been too long old gal, too long. Glad to see she's gotta plenty of hardware at hand; every piece is most likely going to be necessary for the coming fights. Marked Men... they're ghouls, but they don't go down easy. Double tap to be safe is my opinion.

But in any case, excellent work Brig. You always know the best angles to keep me interested. Oh and fun tidbit: that ss you commented on a while ago, about how you were making a similar scene (the one above)? I actually got the idea from Ramona, at the beginning of her journeys, when she displayed her collection at the Saloon. Just a heads up.

I'm so very glad you enjoyed it. I hadn't realized it until Jumpman pointed it out to me in a PM... I was heavily influenced myself by a comic series called The Punisher Armory and the subtitle is even "His guns, his words"... I had realized I was borrowing so heavily from it until it was pointed out to me. I can't take full credit for the idea [and I'll also credit Miss Morose the supremely great and powerful for influencing me to use Feng Shui for this scene too!]. Not sure if you saw it, but I actually linked to that saloon scene in the prologue of this entry and there's a link to another similar scene in Zion you can peek at if you haven't already seen it.

Thanks so much for your feedback and support!

Looking over her arsenal was an interesting way to reminisce as well as a nice recap of what hardware she carries. The Tunnelers are no fun, but next up is a tribe of heavily armed marked men. There's something ominous about entering their territory and seeing all the red flares. I get the feeling she's going to need her firepower for more than the memories...

Glad you liked it. Y'know, I'd not thought of the Marked Men as a tribe before, but that fits.

Yeah, about those flares... Supposedly Ulysses waits for the Courier at his "temple", hinted at in the conversations they have, yet he's also somehow just one step ahead of the Courier's location to launch those flares. They kinda write him to be in two places at once that way.

You're spot on, of course, though, she's going to actually need the firepower.

I always assumed it was the marked men launching the flares. Kind of their early warning system when dinner...er explorer's arrive

Huh, I can't find the reference I remember, but the wiki does give us this:

Ulysses can be seen in various places in Lonesome Road, briefly watching the player and then walking away. This can be seen on top floor of the still standing base of The Crow's Nest and in the building south of the Sunstone Tower roof.
The Ulysses that stalks the Courier has a separate ref ID and cannot take damage or be killed via console commands.

So even with just that, he's NOT at his temple all the time yet still tells the Courier to join him at the end of the road.

That explains the "false Ulysses" I saw in the GECK when I was trying to mod him. I've never actually seen him in any of my runs through the Divide, I'll have to keep an eye out.

Yep. I want to say that at one point I TFC 1'ed the game during a flare launch and actually moved the camera over to spot him, but I'm not sure if that happened or I'm dreaming it did. I will for sure when I get to shooting the next entry.

P-90 FTW, reminds me of my days of glory in CoD4

Great read, nothing like some Tunneler-sauce to help digest a row of tear-jerking episodes.
