Great chapter, Brig! Want more! Do you know, the first time I went to the Sierra Madre I kept thinking of the Overlook Hotel in King's The Shining. It has that same malignant vibe to it.

Thanks FBC! I'm glad you were able to pick up on what I was trying to describe. I'm not used to doing thriller/horrorish stuff. That's Cormell's kingdom and I'm kinda trespassing.

Oh I agree much much. This was my favourite DLC. It was spooky and atmospheric not to mention deadly hard. I love quests that take away your stuff and give it all back to you at the end. That race at the end to escape is so much FUN!

Thanks for all those links to the other story board authors. I have my faves that I follow but I'll check them all out

Hi Psi! Hope you're having a good Summer. You're moving or something major if I recall correctly?

I'll admit it, until I started writing this story line I was NOT a fan of Dead Money, but getting into the how and why of stuff and digging into some folks' heads it's making a lot more sense now.

Quite welcome for the links, it was something I started ages ago after talking with some other writers who were frustrated that their sets weren't being seen so I did what I could to help and give recognition/tribute to folks who influenced me to start.

Transitional entry or not, I enjoyed it, this game tends to turn you into a scavenger and it's hard not to dive into any containers you see, so I sympathies with Mona, and trust Dog for mocking her for doing it

Thanks Des, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, kinda like Jumpman pointed out, it's hard not to be "greedy" when one has almost nothing to begin with.

But it's so hard not to get all the loot!!! Yeah, there's some greed involved, but seriously, you start out with nothing, so every little bit of stuff you find is pretty much a necessity. Even the junk can be useful, or so I keep telling myself.

Yeah! The least they could have done is given us a backpack or a burlap sack or something. ...er, not that I'd know anything about consoling in a duffel bag that I forgot to equip for images after the police station so it won't appear until a later time.

Now that was insightful -- it's the Sierra Madre's greed posing the greatest danger. (hmm.. reminds me of some old movie about treasure)

Haha, excellent observation! I hadn't thought of it that way, but the Sierra Madre itself might as well be a body of water and the the vault literal buried treasure. Assemble your scurvy crew and go get that booty!

Actually I was thinking of the Treasure of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Pirates would be good too.

Well whaddaya know! I hadn't heard of that one before. Yeah, I thought you might be referring to a movie with Johnny Depp in it where some of the cast learns they need to give up their ill gotten gains if they want to save their souls and live as men again.

Queen's, "I want to break free" would be a humorous dog/god song. ha ha

Well done. I like the stories!

Short and to the point. Very logical way of explaning the need for dismemberment on part of the Villa residents. The choice of music........... If Mona had a voice........... Though I don't imagine her sounding like Freddie

Thanks Bernt. you're right, only Freddie is Freddie.

Yeah, for me the ghost people had to make sense before I could write about them, so I made them make sense even if it might only work in my head.

Thanks! Yeah, I'll admit to being a completionist many times, so poor Ramona may be forced to do some searching off the camera for some stuff.

Another nice read. A little off topic...What will Mona buy for all the gold bars she is gonna get? A sandvich for the Iz?

A good question, though it's hard to respond to that without giving any spoilers. Considering she already has millions of caps at her disposal if she wanted to do something with them, I don't think gold bars would change anything for her.

Izzy's welcome to show up at Ramona's caravan compound office for sandwiches anytime, though.

Tough enough slogging through traps and toxic clouds, but trying not to meet Dog's expectations is just mean

It's been a long day and I'm fighting to stay awake, sorry. What do you mean by trying not to meet Dog's expectations?

Sorry, long day as well and this made more sense when I was half asleep Dog expects everyone in the Sierra Madre to succumb to greed eventually. Trying to convince Dog that he's wrong would require some significant sacrifices, not easy to do in such an unforgiving environment.

Ah! Yes, a self fulfilling prophecy for sure. As I like to tell folks sometimes, "being a pessimist, I'm rarely disappointed and sometimes pleasantly surprised. ...except that means what I expected to happen didn't, so even positive outcomes are disappointing."
