1. Introduction
************************************************************
This mod expands upon the existing item properties in Neverwinter Nights, giving players and builders not only the ability to create significantly more powerful (or more cursed) items, but a greater variety of options when assigning properties to items in general.

Two distinct versions are included; the full hak & tlk version which requires module-specific installation, and a "lite" version which need only be placed in the override folder and functions even when installed server-side only for online play. Existing items are completely unaffected.

The mod is likely to be incompatible with others that modify item properties, but should be compatible with any that don't. The lite version should be CEP-compatible, while a CEP-compatible TLK for the full version is included.

2. Installation

*************
Full Version
*************
Place the files in the indicated folders of your NWN install (usually C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN):

ipe_hak.hak -> \hak

Item Properties Expanded Demo.mod -> \modules

ipe_tlk.tlk -> \tlk (required for demo module)
(and/or)
ipe_cep_tlk.tlk -> \tlk (required for CEP modules)

To add to a module, open the module and select Edit -> Module Properties, then select the Custom Content tab. There, select ipe_hak from the drop-down list and add it. Next, select ipe_tlk (for CEP modules, ipe_cep_tlk) from the drop-down list to the right of Custom Tlk File. Click OK and let the module build, then save.

Lite Version
*************
Place all of the following files in your NWN install's override folder (usually C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\override):

iprp_chargecost.2da
iprp_feats.2da
iprp_visualfx.2da
itemprops.2da

3. Use & Known Issues
************************************************************
With the full version hak & tlk added to a module, the additions will be available from an item's properties as normal. The same is true of the lite (override) version, though this will apply to all modules. If used on an online module, where the lite version is installed on the host's computer only, the properties will also function correctly.
Also be aware of the following known issues:

*************
Full Version
*************
  • Some properties don't apply their full effects beyond +20 (Attack Bonus, Regeneration, and others)
  • More powerful On Hit durations don't increase item value
  • The 'None' visual effect removes weapon visuals in game, but not in the toolset

*************
Lite Version
*************
  • Additional bonus feats will appear to players as "Bad Strref" on items when used server-side only for online modules (but the bonus feats themselves will appear & function correctly on character sheets)
  • The 'None' visual effect removes weapon visuals in game, but not in the toolset

5. Notes for the Community
************************************************************
Individuals and custom content teams are welcome to use, modify, and combine this content in whatever way they desire, without asking for my permission or giving me any credit whatsoever.
If you do re-release or include this content in your own releases, I'd appreciate it if you'd feed my narcissism by letting me know via e-mail.

This mod allows players and builders to create items of colossal power (certainly far beyond the realms of what many would wish to use or consider viable), but the resource is provided as-is; how and why it is used is entirely at the discretion of those who use it. If such mods as this one (which could be considered a "cheat" by some) offend you, feel free to not use it.

It's quite possible that I've overlooked several properties that could have been expanded upon (I haven't modified spell-related item properties, for instance, mainly because I couldn't recall them having any particular limitations); if there are such oversights and you'd like me to update this release, feel free to post a comment or send me an e-mail to that effect.
