This week for Morrowind Modding Showcases, we're taking a look at one of the larger landmass mods released for Morrowind, the famed, although incomplete, modding project of Silgrad Tower by the Silgrad Tower team. A project that was started to add in part of the Morrowind mainland after Morrowind came out in 2002, Silgrad Tower was one of the first major landmass mods to be released in any sort of completed form, starting with an early release in 2004, and followed by updates in 2005 and 2006 that added new areas and cities to explore. While the team ultimately abandoned the project to pursue the later Elder Scrolls games, for a long while Silgrad Tower was the only mod for the Morrowind Mainland, though its since been overtaken by Tamriel Rebuilt. Without question, this is a mod that represents a particular type of modding style popular in the early to mid-2000s that may not appeal to many today, but there's a lot of really cool creative things here, and that's why we're doing a tour of Silgrad Tower today, exploring this great landmass in video form.
