Bethesda parent company branches into MMO territory

  • Comment
I found some intriguing news on my usual daily visit to Blues News; it turns out that ZeniMax, parent company of Bethesda, has opened a new MMO studio. What implications this might have for a future Elder Scrolls I don't know.

Personally I find it highly unlikely that any future Elder Scrolls game, or Fallout 3, will be an MMO or even feature a multiplayer aspect. Bethesda have always been adamant that their focus is on "massively-single-player" games.

Very interesting, none-the-less.

I've never heard of ZeniMax outside of the opening credits. What are they? Some kind of media conglomerate <img class="> ?

I just posted a news item on this subject myself, but I didn't see this one. So I had to delete it. <img class=">

Daily Game You linked to that one already, oops.

I hope TES V won't be online, and I think it won't, but you never know... If TES V has an online component, the single player part will probably suffer from it. And imagine the kind of people it will attract... As someone said on the official forums: 'The day I see a dunmer in full Daedric armor say 'lol' I will shoot myself.'

Just look at Oblivion, things aren't looking too bright (This is not a joke):
    Guy 1
    what exactly are books for?

    Guy 2
    book are Booooring

    Guy 3
i think they are for modders who need lore in order to make their mod fit in oblivion

Not saying that the entire oblivion community is like that of course. But there are some... And a TES MMO would make things worse.
