About this mod

Adds one non-enchanted gondolier helm to a barrel in Seyda Neen for easy pickup.

Permissions and credits
Do you love those fancy gondolier helms but hate having to remember console codes or engage in other troublesome shenanigans just to get your grubby little hands on one for a new character? Well, no more!

Gondolier Hat Helper adds a fancy hat to the contents of a barrel at the Census and Excise Office. It's the same barrel that contains Fargoth's ring; since you are required to open this barrel before you can progress through the tutorial, you'll never have to worry about accidentally passing it up.

The helm's stats have not been altered in any way, though the game should update it if you have another mod that changes the item's base properties. There should be no conflicts with any mod that does not also modify the contents of that one barrel.

Q: Hey, could you edit this mod so that-

A: Sadly no, I cannot. The Construction Set confuses and frightens me and this is pretty much the limit of my ability. I got tired of console codes and couldn't find any existing mods that did something like this, so here we are.

Enjoy your hats, friends!

Update 6/8/14: As further proof of how new I am at this, I've only just learned about the GMST contamination that can ensue when making a mod and not including Tribunal or Bloodmoon among the masters. If you find that using Hat Helper breaks some summon spells that were working previously, you may want to switch to the alternate file I've uploaded that's been cleaned with TESTool.

I have tested the cleaned version on an older save with access to Summon Bonewolf and the GMST bug appears to have been fixed, but it's still marked experimental just to be on the safe side as I am a newbie and everything I touch explodes.

Please let me know if you encounter this or any other error as a result of my mod, and I will do my best to figure out what happened.
