This simple mod swaps a few of the faction requirements for House Hlaalu while still trying to be lore-friendly as possible. Vanilla Hlaalu is very stealth-centric and nearly a clone of the Thieves Guild, which shuts out a lot of of play styles. I personally don't like playing as stealthy characters in Morrowind and so I've never been able to go through the Hlaalu questline because I'd never meet the advancement requirements. If you're in the same camp as me and would like to experience progression through the Hlaalu ranks without console commands or cheating - read on.
Favored Attributes
Speed. Replaced with Personality. (More fitting to their lore as traders, brokers, and businessmen).
Agility.
Favored Skills
Light Armor
Marksman
Mercantile
Security (Removed)
Short Blade
Speechcraft
Medium Armor (New)
Long Blade (New)
House Hlaalu has its own armed guards and soldiers that it fields in defense of its people and property. It was strange that their skill requirements were so limited when it came to combat skills. Medium armor and long blade were added to both broaden eligibility to players but also because those are skills their own soldiers/guards use. Security was removed because it felt out of place for the House and very few quests required use of it.
Lastly: Nileno Dorvayn's dialogue was altered to reflect these changes.
Mod Requirements Nothing. No DLC or expansions required. Works in OpenMW as well.
