Melchior's Mallorn Trees in the Ascadian Isles

Description

This is a simple, pluginless replacer for the trees in the Ascadian Isles. It uses Melchior's beautiful Mallorn Trees in Morrowind resource to do so, resulting in a completely changed look and feel. The Ascadian Isles is now a thick forest of towering trees that makes the forests of Valenwood feel small (not really).

Things to Keep in Mind

This mod will replace the vanilla tree meshes. It is a good idea to make a backup of those before installation. Another thing to keep in mind is that mods (or vanilla locations) that use the trees in the Ascadian Isles as decoration, will also be replaced. For example, in the Balmora mages guild they have a small floral decoration on the bottom floor. This decoration uses an Ascadian tree as a centerpiece, therefore it is replaced with a Mallorn Tree. It doesn't cause any real problems, it doesn't crash your game or anything. It just looks odd. An easy fix is to open up the console, (using the ` key) click on the tree, type "disable" and hit enter. I could go around the map and manually delete all the trees that look strange, appear in interiors, or don't fit. But that would require that I used an ESP. And... I don't want to go that direction with this mod.

Installation

Simply drag and drop the meshes and textures folders from the archive into your Data Files folder. Make sure you completely remove any mods that also replace the trees in the Ascadian Isles. If you're using MGE XE or MGSO, make sure you rebuild your distant terrain using the MGEXEgui.

Closing Statements

I made this mod because I was bored. If you find any bugs, or have any questions, comments or concerns please share them with me! Also, post some screenshots! I'd love to see these trees in other people's games.

Big Thanks to
