About this mod
Play Morrowind with a new lore-friendly Argonian companion!
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits

- Binyaar is an Argonian companion character that is a Heavy Armor toting Mace Wielding Spellcasting Rogue. He also has a lot to say.
- Binyaar may be found in Desele's House of Earthly Delights in Suran. He owns his own shack outside of Suran.
- You can use Companion Share with him, just like with that one Mercenary guy in Mournhold and the Rats that that one guy sells.
- Binyaar is as the character Binyaar in "The Wraith's Wedding Dowry". That book and characters included in that book are pivotal in the storyline. Binyaar is the Binyaar from the Wedding Dowry book, and this mod is very much connected to and based off of that story.
- Binyaar is a jack-of-all-trades. He uses a Mace, wears Heavy Armor, casts Spells, and is an accomplished Rogue. He is a character for all (However, his plotline-specific quest is tailored towards Rogues more than other characters).
- Binyaar can accompany you to Mournhold, however he does not get to go with you to Sotha Sil. He also gets to go to Solstheim like most companions, but again he does not accompany you into Mortcrag Glacier. I think Binyaar is scared of final boss locations or something. Or maybe it would be redundant to script them in, and ultimately it would make no sense. Probably both.
- Binyaar can teleport back to his shack at any time should you give him the command (After, of course, you visit his shack with him).
- Binyaar has at least over 200 lines of dialogue. I am 100% sure of that. Maybe more, I'm going to put my money on 300 lines, but I am not sure, because I am not counting that. In any case, a lot of love was put into making sure he felt like a real character. As far as I know, I think he might have over 200 greetings alone. He has at least over 100.
- Binyaar has a few topics he does not divulge on until later in the mod, but it isn't exactly difficult to get him to spill the beans eventually. A lot of it is just random chance of something he'll bring up.
- This mod features a few scripts taken from the Grumpy's Companion Project. It doesn't actually use any files from it, but it uses pretty much only slightly modified and personalized for Binyaar versions of these scripts. These are used to do two things:
1. Make sure Binyaar always follows you. One thing that bothered me about Morrowind is that I had to babysit my companions. Not so here, Binyaar does not need to be babysat. (Thank you Grumpy). You can walk ever forward into the unknown, not afraid that your ****ing companion got stuck on a rock because the AI pathing sucks.
2. Make sure that Binyaar levels with you. I had no idea whatsoever how to do this, but now he does it.
- This mod features a lore-expansive atmosphere. Everything in this mod is based on established lore of some kind, half of this mod was Elder Scrolls homework for me, trying to make sure I got everything right. I wanted a character that would fit seamlessly into the world, and as a third party developer that can be difficult.
Update Log: 0.0002 = Fixed a bug where Binyaar's ENTIRE SHACK was gone, botched attempt at "cleaning" mod.
Update Log: 0.0003 = Fixed a bug where a certain NPC was not giving a potion when he said he would. Lying jerk.
