About this mod

Unobtrusively adjusts the mercantile skills of most merchants within the game without creating mod conflicts. The purpose is to make merchants work more realistically and bargain harder instead of giving their money away to anyone with even moderate Mercantile Skill.

This was originally module of HotFusion's Economy Adjuster, but I have modified it so it works without causing any other problems within the game.

Trading with many of the merchants in Morrowind is like 'taking candy from a baby'. This is because many of them, despite having presumably been in trade for years, have the Mercantile skills of a baby. Most merchants have no more Mercantile skill than a starting character with Mercantile as a miscellaneous skill. This is responsible for most of the strange behaviour of the merchants in Morrowind which makes it child's play to make as much money as you want without selling anything once you get past a certain Mercantile skill.

This mod modifies the Mercantile Skill and Speechcraft Skills of pretty much every merchant in the game, but does it in a way that won't conflict with other mods. It uses the cunning trick of using a dialogue greeting when you first meet them, running a script and then triggering another greeting. All you will notice is '...' at the top of the dialogue box when the script is triggered. Otherwise all gameplay will work normally.

The original version had some bugs, including changing the skills some trainers offered. These have been fixed. I have also adusted the formula for the skill levels used.

You will notice that the merchant's will trade a bit harder, but it is still quite possible to make enough money in a fair way.
