The other day, I picked up Morrowind during the Steam Summer sale, excited to finally try what most people called the best Elder Scrolls game in the series. I decided to create a spear-specialized character, as that wasn't really an option in later games.
To my surprise, however, when I picked up a Halberd for the first time, I saw that for whatever reason, they were incapable of dealing Slashing and chopping damage! What good is sticking an axe on the end of your spear if you can't use it? So I looked into Modding Morrowind, and got to work.
This mod changes the stats of the Iron, Steel, Dwarven and Glass Halberds, completely reworking their damages. In the case of the Iron and Glass Halberds, which are now called Bardiches, I reduced their thrust damage while increasing slash and chop damage. In the case of the Steel and Dwarven Halberds, Minimum damage has been reduced in favour of increased Chopping and Slashing damage. Enchanted variants have also been changed.
Installation is simple, and is no different from any other Morrowind mod. Just drag SensibleHalberds.ESP into your "Data Files" folder in the directory where you installed Morrowind.
