This mod places a new basket in the dagger room during the character creation sequence (replacing one of the old food baskets). Inside this basket is a set of "beginners" weapons, custom created to have crappy stats and zero value. The weapons are weak because the purpose of the mod is to give a starting player more options without drasticly changing the opening game. It also changes the opening dagger into a "beginners dagger", and makes it valuless for the sake of consistency. It includes a slight change to the info box when you walk into the dagger room to let the player know where to find the weapons and make the plugin feel more seamless.
Not every weapon type is included, but every skill type is represented,including one and two handed weapons for each type where appropriate (like longswords). There is also a shield for those that like to play with a one handed sword shield style.
Place the file "beginners weapons.esp" in the "data files" folder in your mirrowind directory. when you start the game, click on "data" instead of "play" and double click the beginners weapons file to put an x in the little box. when you start a new game you will find the weapons.
