This was generated on a 4GB Win7 64 bit system and will be good for any system with a reasonably fast CPU, 1 GB or more memory and a half-way decent video card.
Almost every line in the ini file is described and documented, with examples and whatever the Bethesda default was, just in case you foul things up.
Load it in a text editor and read through it or just replace your own morrowind.ini file with it, after backing up the original of course.
