Description
===========
Adds a shield to the Royal Guard armor set. Also adds shields to Royal Guard NPCs. Additional shield available for player use.

Details
=======
I've worked on and tweaked GMatthews' "Helseth Royal Guard Shield" mod. This mod provides all new textures for a shield (it uses the Iron Shield mesh) for the the Royal Guard armor set. It also adds this shield to the Royal Guard NPCs, as well as placing one next to Helseth's Throne (which the player can freely pick up and use). I've added unique icons to each of the three shield types, as well as diversifying the three shield types that GMatthews created (in his mod, only the first shield was used).

- All Generic Royal Guards, and most Named Royal Guards have been given an Ebony Longsword. The Adamantium Claymore has been removed from their inventory. The Guards already have a high Block skills, so they will use their new Shields to good effect.

- Generic Royal Guards have a plain boss on their shield.

- Named Royal Guards (and your shield!) will have a Lion's Head boss, just like the belt buckle on the Royal Guard Armor.

- Karrod has a shield with an entirely different texture, because he is just that cool.

- The NPC with the Gravedigger two-handed sword still has that sword.

+ Shield properties are as follows: Weight = 13.00 (Medium Armor), AR = 55, HP = 1100, Value = 4500, Enchantment = 5.50

+ Included is an optional download that is compatible with my Armor Integrative Modifications mod (versions 0.6 and 1.0).

!!!NOTE: I take no credit whatsoever for the meshes and textures. GMatthews, in the original mod's readme, stated that modders can use his mod for whatever purposes. I assume this also includes redistribution and further modification. Only thank me for the icons. If you like the rest of the mod, please make sure to also vote and comment on the "Helset Royal Guard Shield" download page here: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3069 !!!

Downloading the Mod
===================

+RGA_Regular - use this if you aren't using my AIM mod. Contains textures, meshes, icons, an .esp, and a readme.

+RGA_AIM_0dot6 - use this if you are using version 0.6 of my AIM mod. Contains textures, meshes, icons, an .esp, and a readme.

+RGA_AIM_1dot0 - use this if you are using version 1.0 of my AIM mod. Contains textures, meshes, icons, an .esp, and a readme.

+RGA_CleanUp_Tutorial - Download this if the shields are not showing up on the guards. This tutorial will explain, with illustrations, what you need to do to fix the problem.

Incompatibility
===============
Do not run both my .esp and GMatthew's .esp at the same time. Bad stuff could happen.

Incompatibilities inherent in the original mod (and this in this mod, too):
This mod will have conflicts with other mods that modify the same NPCs, or mods that use the same names for textures, meshes, and icons.

If you use an armor balancing mod, the stats for the shields will not automagically adjust and be balanced. You can easily edit the shield properties in the Construction Set.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
If this mod does not appear to work on a savegame where you have entered Mournhold, you will need to do the following:
- Download and install the Morrowind Enchanted Editor from here: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=52

(You can also get illustrated instruction in the download "RGA_CleanUp_Tutorial.zip")

- Open the Enchanted Editor (EE) and click the little folder icon, or File > Open
- Navigate to Morrowind/Saves and select the save game you intend to use in Morrowind. Wait for everything to load.
- Find the "Cells" tab and open it up. Now, place a check mark next to any of the following cells you find in your records (Basically, anything that has "Mournhold Plaza..." and "Mournhold Royal Palace...") :
----Mournhold Plaza Brindisi Dorom
----Mournhold Royal Palace Barenziah's Chamber
----Mournhold Royal Paace Courtyard
----Mournhold Royal Palace Helseth's Chamber
----Mournhold Royal Palace Imperial Cult Services
----Mournhold Royal Palace Jail
----Mournhold Royal Palace Reception Area
----Mournhold Royal Palace Throne Room
- In the right-hand panel, you will now see an option to delete marked fields. Click that button, and proceed through the steps.
- Additionally, you may need to navigate to the "Non Player Characters" section. Open it up. Now, place check marks next to the following (if they are there) :
----NPC_.NAME: "Tienius Delitian"
----NPC_.NAME: "Milvela Dralen"
----NPC_.NAME: "Ivulen Irano"
----NPC_.NAME: "Aleri Aren"
----NPC_.NAME: "Diradeni Farano"
----NPC_.NAME: "Ervis Verano"
----NPC_.NAME: "Evo Othreloth"
----NPC_.NAME: "Drusus Gratus"
----NPC_.NAME: "Alusannah"
----NPC_.NAME: "royal guard_karrod"
----NPC_.NAME: "Guard_Helseth_attack"
----NPC_.NAME: "Guard_Helseth"
- Same as before, delte the marked fields.
- Tell the EE to save your plugin. It will automatically create a backup. If you need to use this backup file, you will find it in your Morrowind\Saves folder. To use it again, all you have to do is right-click on it in Windows Explorer, and click "Rename." Now, simply remove the ".bak" at the end. You'll have to remove the save we just cleaned up, otherwise Windows will tell you you cannot remove that ".bak" because it creates two files with the same name.

- !!!PLEASE NOTE: Deleting records of those cells means that certain hostile NPCs that appear in Barenziah's chambers and the Plaza Brindisi Dorom will reappear when you next enter that cell. This won't break any quests, but might just be annoying. !!!

- !!!PLEASE NOTE: Deleting the records of those NPCs will remove any disposition changes you may have made with them. It shouldn't break any quests, but I'm not making any guarantees. They will also reset to their default positions. !!!

!!! Make sure you remove the shield from your character's inventory before deactivating this mod. There's a bug with the game engine that will mess up your encumbrance if items suddenly disappear or change weight between save games. !!!

Thanks to Slartibartfast1 and Dragon32 for helping me debug/clean my savegame.
