Version 1

Description

Gold certificates is a rather simple mod, that is entirely based upon two objects - Gold, and a Monetary Certificate. In serveral places across Vvardenfell (listed below), there are new machines, installed by command of the emperor himself, that dispense Monetary Certificates. Across the empire, the gold coin is a rather standard peice, but is sometimes hard to use in parts of the empire. To combat this, the Empire has created Monetary Verfificates, that are worth exactly 100 drakes. They can be used in barter, like real gold, but be warned, sometimes merchants tend to try and compensate for you using 'Paper Money' instead of the gold coin. While exploitation by merchants is common, the certificate is a smashing success - being used widely across the empire, and with new certificates being withdrawn and redeemed everyday. Some call this new money, the Traveler's Best Friend - for it's simplicity of use, and being much more handy than gold.

Installation

Simply drag and drop the ESP into the datafiles and enable it. Then, while in-game, find a Certificate Machine and redeem coins or certificates for the opposite.

Machine Locations

While there are 4 machines in Vivec alone (being such a a large city, and all), there are also 3 more across the island. The first can be found in the Lucky Lockup in Balmora, the second, in the Council Club in Ald-Ruhn, third in the Gateway Inn in Sadrith Mora. The ones in Vivec - one in each treasury, and one in the Foreign Quarter Plaza.

Mod History

In all honesty, I made this mod in ten minutes, using a modified script from my script stockpile. I used no new meshes, or anything, but with some clever usage of statics and cranks, I made 7 machines to work with. Gold Certificates is a mod that instead of hauling around gold (some mods make gold encumbering), you could carry a couple certificates around, instead of piles of loose coins. True, the certificates are worth 100 gold, and can be sold at any merchant, but that is fine. Chances are, you will get less than a hundred gold for selling it. Or, you can use it instead of gold in bartering. Or, my favourite, stock your vaults with them. I used the rolled paper mesh, so they stack nicely, and look great in a winerack.
