I've got back into modding...

After a spell away from modding, I've got back into it! I'd forgotten the frustrating fun of it all! Thought I'd share what I'm up to.

Anyway, RW2...

Real Wildlife was my personal creature mod from ages back. I found it odd that there were only adult creatures in the game, no youngsters or alphas, just basic adults. So I decided to change it.

This is the first RW2 public release. I would really appreciate any reports of problems/bugs.

Features:
------------

Real Wildlife 2a:

* Variations for each 'natural' creature, by ages, sex, and health,
* Morrowind plug in to begin with, Tribunal and Bloodmoon plugins to come,
* New subspecies of several creatures,
* Diseased and blighted versions of each subspecies and age,
* New diseases to catch!
* Nesting sites,
* New ingredients, including species specific eggs, hide, hearts.
* A number of short, misclaneous quests,
* Scripted wildlife 'events',
* Lingarn's animated stilt striders,
* Revamped AI, including some unique individuals with odd personality traits...
* Mini-faction - VSPCR, located in Vos. (possible conflict with vos modifiers, need to check)




Real Wildlife 2a Tribunal Addon:

This plug in only affects Mournhold and Tribunal.

* Variations of Durzog by ade, sex health etc.
* Tougher and weaker versions of each variation!
* New subspecies of Durzog
* Variations in goblins - Stone Tribe and Claw Tribe, representing tougher and weaker goblin varieties.
* Scripted events
* 2 misc quests




Real Wildlife 2a Bloodmoon Addon:

This plug in only affects Solstheim and Bloodmoon.
* Variations for each of the types of wildlife, including Reiklings and grahls, by ages, sex, health etc.
* New ingredients
* Revamped AI
* fixed the 'bug' where fearsome grahls were weaker than normal ones

Future releases
----------------

RW (2b+) may include the ability to wipe out whole subspecies by destroying nest sites, retextures differentiating sub-species, stilt striders travelling between strider ports. Oh, and possibly some of the more lore firendly new meshes. But I'm not sure on that last one.

Rationalle:
-------------

There are many, many creature mods out there. Many of them very good, if not excellent! However, very few concentrated on making the existing wild life more 'natural'. This mod aims to have creatures appearing from babies through to old age; family units; nesting sites; scripted and unscrpited events or 'stories' etc. This will give those who want a little realism injected into their wildlife a little something they can use.


I Would appreciate thoughs, ideas and comments. Can't promise to use them, or be able to do them, but I'll see!

This is the test (alpha) version. I think it is pretty much complete, I just want to check it works!

INSTILATION
------------

Simply unzip into your datafiles folder. Then select it via the plug-ins menu at the start screen.

TO opitmize performance, I reccomend you use a leveled list merger, and probably a management tool like Wyre Mash.

* corrected scripted events where scripts were placed incorrectly.
* Increased variety by adding + and - varieties of each basic variation; for example, you now get adult, adult+ and adult-, where + is slightly tougher, - slightly weaker. Complete for the following creatures:

The Nest

This is released as a modders resource, it was originally made for one of Nedius’s projects. The nest comes in two flavors; one has extra alpha mapped twigs all over it, while the other is plain (basic mesh) although it still has the hanging cloth on it.

This plugin adds eight new creatures to the game -- Silt Striders!
There are four ages/sizes, and wild/tame varieties.

Please note that the striders are all set to be non-aggressive.

This is basically just a demonstration; only a few striders are
scattered about in the world.

Installation:

Unzipping the .zip file to the Data Files directory should put
everything in the right place. If it doesn't, then all of the meshes
go into \Data Files\Meshes\Ln (a new folder which you may have to
make manually).

The .esp file should go into the Data Files directory
itself.

Texturing/modelling/TES:CS - Lingarn. No completely new meshes or
textures were created for V 1.0; everything was based on
default game content modified to fit.

Utilities:

-NifPlugin v0.10b (Build 100) - Dave Humphrey,
([email protected]). This program made the mod
possible, and will be extremely useful in the future.
