Having a little fun with magic effects !

Here is a revamp of the 3 Elemental Shields. The big egg/bubble was replaced by sigils that surround the caster and represent 3 elemental summons from Final Fantasy X; Ifrit for Fire, Ixion for Lightning, and Shiva for Ice. The 3 shields can be active at once and won't override each other visually

I also added a little extra touch in the form of a glowing "aura" at the feet of the caster. I think it looks pretty cool, on an even ground at least.

    Hi dears commenters/endorsers (hehe) !

    Since I received positive comments on the effects I showed so far, I decided to release a temporary version of my project in the next few days instead of waiting for it to be complete, as it would take WAY too much time. I still need to improve the new sound effects though, and tweak one minor thing or two. And try to record a video too, it would show the new spells better then a picture !

    It would also be a good opportunity to receive some criticism from everyone to make this project as good as can be !

      You should make a WIP thread over at the official forums and please upload it over at MMH or fliggerty. I prefer to download from over there but that is just me being picky But really, the community is based out of the official forums these days although besides GHF and MMH there is also http://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/ and http://www.tesalliance.org/index.php/ which also host Morrowind mods. The modders use the nexus but they really hang out elsewhere for reasons I won't discuss here... right now

    I've been waiting for something like this for so long and now you've done it so perfectly well. And also FF X is the best Final Fantasy in my opinion, which makes it even more awesome.

    They look great! The magic effects needed to be updated.

    I request a new shield effect and explosions! That should keep you busy for a little while

      I already have an idea or two for the normal shield effect, I just need to find a half-sphere model to make something like this:

      I found one, a replacer for sky_night01.nif, but it is not suited for what I want to make; the "bumped" side looks perfect, but if you look at it from behind, part of the model is invisible. Same goes for most models, they're invisible from inside, so I can't use a barrel to make something like this:

      I guess I'll have to settle with a honeycomb-like flat wall then. Not fun. Final Fantasy Tactics also had something that looked like glowing crystal pillars:
