About this mod

The world of Tamriel (from the Elder Scrolls) in Minecraft

Permissions and credits
Donations

Tamriel in Minecraft aims to bring the entire world of Nirn (from the Elder Scrolls series) into Minecraft. Fueled by contributions from builders like you, this project will feature all of Tamriel, Mehrunes Dagon's realm of Oblivion, and Sovngarde. Landscape and biomes will match lore as close I can, and cities will be recreated. I will be taking submissions for models (See submitting a contribution) and will be using stock models from Minecraft, submitted models, and voxelized meshes from the original games to recreate cities and landmarks myself as well. (See progress to see what's complete today). I am also hoping to put together a complimenting texture pack and will link to it once I release it.

If you like this mod, please consider contributing by creating and/or giving me permission to use your Minecraft Elder Scrolls models, schematics, textures, etc.

*Note: The MCEdit file is actually an excel you can use to teleport to different locations!

A detailed excel file can be downloaded in place of a Schematic file. The excel details progress by country and city, with fast travel coordinates, notes, and contribution credits.

1.0 – Initial Release: Broad Strokes
-Proper ocean level
-All of Tamriel has complete biomes / terrain. (Note I will be updating these with more precision to lore. See future updates for more).
-1.4 times bigger than original resource map, almost a 1:1 scale from in game elder scrolls game. (1.8x original was 1:1, but that made the map 3 gigs instead of 1.3 gigs, and I thought that was too big. I got lost. ;)
-Imperial City, Jail, and mages tower in game (some interiors)
-Complete Battlethorn Castle (Oblivion DLC)
-Coordinates of all of the cities! These are approximations and may be adjusted as cities are added

Next up I'll be adding some more detail to the map and hopefully adding some more cities. Check out the Future Features section!

Download and extract the file and place the "Tamriel in Minecraft" folder in your C:UsersAppDataRoaming.minecraftsaves folder.

You may want to considering downloading the navigation/progress excel. (See the schematic download). It can be used to easily warp from one location to another. While the initial release excel is mostly blank, I will have it entries filled at the next update.

These are features I'd like to / am planning on adding. There is no garuntee that I will, indeed add them though. Progress will be based on the quantity/quality of contributions, my enthusiasm level for the project, and encouragement (your positive comments make a difference). I'd appreciate you helping out in any way you can. Submit ideas, show me a TES map that has more detail for a country, etc….

Map:
-Better Mountains
-Cyrodiil more detail in biomes to better match lore

Areas:
-Mehrunes Dagon's realm of Oblivion (Oblivion from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion)
-Sovngarde (From Skyrim)

Models:
-More models / cities (based on contributions)
-Voxelized models (Still need to figure out if possible / how I'll go about it)

Other:
-Possibly fast travel button/command block system (Would you want a button fast travel system?)

I'm also planning on making a texture pack that combines elements of other TES texture packs and is designed for this project, but I may not release it until we're into 1.5, so that I can design it with the individual textures. :D

The following authors have given me permission to use their assets. Without these contributions / permissions, this project would fail to exist. They've put together some great builds and then been very generous with them. While I've just asked to use their TES assets, that's not all they've built. So if you like one of their contributions, I recommend you check out the author's to see what else they've done. You can also go to their page and download just their asset if you don't want to download my whole continent. :D

CREDITS:
Bethesda, for the awesome Elder Scrolls Series
Mojang, for making Minecraft!
Worldpainter, for being a powerful, easy to use, and free piece of software
MCEdit, for making it easy to combine multiple works and managing chunks / buildings
The UESP wiki for lore info, and the map I based my locations on.

This project runs on contributions! If I can't get contributions for a city, I will construct it from models from other cities, combined with voxelized meshes from in game. This means a lack of variety and many times a lack of interiors, so I need your help! Please submit your models, textures, builds, and lore know how with me! (I'd appreciate bug fixes, reasonable inaccuracy notifications, and error reports.) If you know someone who has built an Elder Scrolls Minecraft something, tell them to contribute! Spread the word!

If you have something you'd like to submit, please let me know I have your permission to use it in the comments or via PM. If you have specific legal / use /permissions, please clearly state that as well (for instance, I can use your work but can't profit from it). If I use your submission I will put you in the contributor's section, credit you, and place your model in Tamriel!

Want to build, but need some ideas? Here are some things I'm looking for!
-Oblivion Citadels
-Caves, Alyeid Ruins, Nordic Ruins, Dagoth lava caves, dungeons, any TES underground structure you can contribute!
-City of Vivec
-Sovngarde's Manor, if you're feeling epic.
-Architecture sets /building bundles: I'll use these to construct cities in that architectural style.
-Walking/migratory trees for Valenwood: large trees with buildings in them, perhaps with roots that "appear to be in a walking/dragging position". (Thanks to HowyJ for pointing this one out!)
+Standard medieval (for Cyrodiil)
+Elven (Summerset Isles)
+Stone (For forts and outposts)
+Whimsical – for high rock, elven and breten places (Please keep it on par with lore(think mushroom houses)
+Mushroom / Shell / Vine buildings (think Sadrith Mora, Ald Ruhn, etc)
+Desert / Jungle / Marsh (Elswyre, Black Marsh)

I'll take WIP projects, cities, building bundles, and even single structures, so get building and then let me know when you have something you'd like to share!

Feel free to download and play on this map, or use it in your private server / lan parties. However, if you want to use it for a public server or use parts of it on a public server, please pm me. I ask this because I wish to respect the rights of all of the contributors, and so we will need to work out what you can and cannot do to honor their wishes.

Wear one of these banners so people can click it and see this mod! More views means more contributors which in turn means more details and a more complete Tamriel! I can't get the BBC code to work on PMC, but to add the banner to your Minecraft Forums sig, post the code in the sig box. (You may have go into code mode by hitting the button in the top left of the editing box for it to work.)
