About this mod

Adds ME1 styled armor for male and female Shepard, Ashley, Kaidan, Liara, James, and Brooks.

12/10/21: I'm gonna officially open this for porting to ME:LE now so if anybody wants to take this monster on, be my guest! Just send me a note to let me know and credit me for the original mod. And good luck! Took me six months to make this thing. Hope porting goes faster! ?

04/07/22: Check out this awesome mod by Mistyvail! It's not a port of this mod and only includes Shep for the time being, but does include all armors and helmets for ME:LE2 and ME:LE3! There's a great classic armors mod for the ME:LE2 squad here by RepugnantPear and another small one for ME:LE3 here by bobodori that gives the entire crew the Predator armor!

With these mods, this poor old thing is doubly outdated!? If somebody wants to port it just for the practice or whatever, go for it I guess. Permissions are gonna stay open for it.

Please Note:
All of my mods currently require REV 653 of ME3Explorer, available here (under Optional Files) on the Nexus.  I am looking into updating them to the newest stable release of ME3Explorer and/or DLC mods (assuming I can ever get DLC mods to work...), but my modding time is currently limited and I don't know when or if that will happen.  Please be sure to keep a copy of REV 653 if you wish to use my mods for the time being. Thanks! :)

Also, I plan to add proper helmets, including Getorex's awesome clear-faced helmets, for all relevant mods in the updated versions.

***UPDATES***

The Medium N7 Onyx armor for both Male and Female Shepard is now available in DLC format as part of CaptainObviousau's wonderful N7 Armor Mod! :D

Update 12/19/15:
I've gotten word from Getorex that it's cool for me to put up the last five armors for male Shepard. The new zip contains the heavy Colossus, N7 Onyx, Predator, Scorpion, and Titan armor as well as a screenshot or two.  You can still get Getorex's versions of Colossus and N7 Onyx in his Legacy Armor mod.

Update 2/21/15: Am working on uploading files that are separated by character and weight and include the source files.  The source files are for advanced users only and have no instructions for installation so if you don't know how to use them, just use the prepared .mod files.  The N7, Spectre, and Ashley's H.A. armor have already been updated.  The original grouped files are still up in the old version section, if anyone would rather just download the lot at once :)

***DESCRIPTION***

This mod contains 16 different armors from the first game, available for males and females, and in all three weights.  The armors for Shepard will replace the Collector armor.  The squad armors replace the Collector's Edition armor for Ashley, Kaidan, and Liara and the From Ashes armor for James.   All three weights are available for everyone save James, who only has heavy armor.

Also included are custom Spectre armors for both Shepards and Kaidan in the style of ME1's Hazard armor.  I didn't do one for Ashley, but there is a very nice one for her in the same style in survivor686's Ashley Battlepack mod.  There is also a unique red medium armor for Ashley, dubbed the H.A. armor.

The iconic N7 armor featured on the cover of the game is packaged individually and comes in all three weights for female Shepard, but only light and medium for male Shepard. Once again, the heavy version is available in Getorex's mod.  Now includes all three wights for male Shepard as well!

Brooks' mod will replace her Ashley-lookalike armored bodysuit from the Citadel dlc with one of four light armors.  I simply chose four that I liked and felt looked good on her, but at some point I may add the remaining light armors as options.  Suggestions are welcome :)

Please note that Ashley has two meshes for each armor weight, one edited to work with her default appearance and the other intended to be used with the Legacy Project by ELE08.  The edited meshes for her default make her bust noticeably larger than the other ladies', which is necessary to hide the cleavage attached to her default head.  Either mesh will work with the Legacy Project, but you must use the edited one if you use her default appearance or her boobs will be sticking out of her armor!  Also, on a lark, I gave the light version of Ashley's edited mesh to Brooks too.  It will increase her bust size as well and is entirely optional.

***REQUIREMENTS***

This mod is intended to run with the latest stable build of me3explorer (rev 653, available under Optional Files here).  If you are new to modding, go here and follow the instructions carefully.  It will show you how to properly set up me3explorer and make backups.  You will also need backups of your Coalesced.bin and BIOGame_INT.tlk files.  You will also need WarrantyVoider's DLC Patcher.  Get it here

***INSTRUCTIONS***

Full installation instructions are included in every .zip file along with an edited coalesced file and a file labelled BIOGame_INT.tlk.  The coalesced is the same in every .zip, but the .tlk file included with the Spectre and N7 armors is different.  If you want your armor name and description changed in the wardrobe and store menus, make a copy of the original BIOGame_INT.tlk in your BIOGame\CookedPCConsole folder, then replace the original with the modded file.  The Collector armor will be changed to Classic Armor, Spectre Armor, or N7 Armor depending on which file you install.

The coalesced file will  add the Collector armor to the wardrobe without the need to buy it.  It will also make the armors wearable as casual outfits or chest pieces to allow various headgear to be worn with it.  Again, make a backup of the original file in your BIOGame\CookedPCConsole folder and replace the original with the edited one.  If you want to edit your coalesced file yourself, first download this tool, open up the coalesced file located in your BIOGame\CookedPCConsole folder, and add the following line to the very bottom of  biogame.ini-sfxgame-sfxplayercustomization-fullbodyappearances, casualappearances and torsoappearances:

(Mesh=(Male="BIOG_HMM_ARM_SHP_R.FBDd.HMM_ARM_FBDd_NH_MDL",Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_SHP_R.FBDd.HMF_ARM_FBDd_NH_MDL",bHideHead=True,bHideHair=True),Id=1000,Name=686365,Description=351309,PlotFlag=-1,Type=CustomizableType_Torso)

You'll also need to add invisible arms, shoulders, and legs to wear the chestpiece version properly.  To do so, add the following lines to the bottom of the appropriate sections:

In armappearances, add: (Id=77,Name=813578,Description=813579,PlotFlag=-1,Type=CustomizableType_Arms)
In legappearances, add: (Id=77,Name=813578,Description=813579,PlotFlag=-1,Type=CustomizableType_Legs)
In shoulderappearances, add: (Id=77,Name=813578,Description=813579,PlotFlag=-1,Type=CustomizableType_Shoulders)

***CREDITS***

Thanks go out to Getorex and Ottemis for their invaluable help with this mod.  I really could not have finished it without you guys! :D Also thanks to my testers for making sure it was ship-shape before release.

Much credit goes to ELEO8 for the original extractions of the heavy armor textures and meshes, as well as the included default heavy armor meshes. If you'd like them to play with yourself, they're still available on her blog here.

As always, thanks to WarrantyVoider and the entire crew at the me3explorer forums for working so hard on these wonderful tools!  This would literally not be possible without any of you!

And, last but far from least, thanks to Bioware for creating the Mass Effect universe.
